6600 Installed

Recieved my 6600 yesturday and installed today after work. Took about 25 minutes, real easy install.

I had Troyer put the following tunes on it:

1. 87 tow
2. 87 performance no tow
3. 89 performance no tow
4. 91 performance no tow

Right now I have it on #2 cause I have the 87 octane in it. Right after I installed it I took it out for a test drive. Seemed like the power increased a bit from stock and shifts seem a little firmer. Nothing head wrenching but noticable. Now I want to run the liquid out and put in some 94 in it to see what it will do. I did the 91 performance cause I will be retiring in the sw Washington State area in about 5 years and you can only get 91 octane up their, hence not getting the 94 which is available in Alabama.

I had it programed to correct for my bigger tire size as well.

So all in all very pleased.

I am going to keep track of my fuel usage as well and will post results. And I have been told that the longer you drive the better the performance ...

Thanks Mike!!

72,

Install was easy, your computer is located on the passenger side above the kick plate. I found the easiest way to get the computer out is to open the hood and take the battery out. Then take the battery tray out as well. This gives you straight access to remove the wire harness. Unbolt the wire harness first.

Then remove the plastic that goes in the lower passenger side door (foot sill), remove the fwd rubber molding and then pull the kick plate off. Now you will be able to see your computer mounted to the left side wall. Unsnap the clip and it should fall right out.

The rest of the instructions come with the 6600 and are easy to understand.

Reverse above to put back in.

On the shift I asked for Firm. I took it out today for a little drive down some country roads and stepped on it to see what it would do. Man what a difference from stock I am more pleased than the quick little drive I did right after I installed it..

You will love the difference...

Also forgot to mention the switch, I ran it up and into my glove box from the back, it is really a small dial switch. You dont even notice it. The computer is right in that area as well.

72-
I have th 305/70/16 tires, stock was 255/75/16 so a bit bigger than stock.

I would go with the hard tranny shift if your looking for that hard tranny shift kit style. I wish I went with that instead. My other toy-a 68 Camaro has the shift kit in it and it shifts hard and I like that feel. My trucks tranny is bone stock.

(had to mention the Camaro since I see you have a pony)

When you go to your 91 octane tune it may shift harder. Mine shifted harder in 91 performance than it did in 91 tow safe. I haven't even tried the 87 octane mode yet..
