Can a Superchip adjust for tire/gear changes?
Sounds good Mike. I just ordered 33" tires so hopefully my computer will be one that allows for the update.
A couple other questions. Why not make a "Programer" instead of the chips? Do you make anything for the 5.3 in my Burb or the 4.6 in my Mustang?

Hi SCM,
We have made a similar type of device for years now, but we only make it for those vehicles whose computers actually *require* that type of device (1996 & newer GM's), due to the expense, as those units are considerably more expensive than the Superchip.
And yes, we do offer the Micro Tuner 2001 (this is our device that is similar to the HPP unit) for the 2000 5.3 GM's like yours, which allows you to upload the performance program into your computer, and it stores your factory program in the Micro Tuner, so you can go back and forth as you like. However, unlike Hypertech, we do not require, nor do we recommend the use of abnormally cold thermostats as Hypertech requires and/or recommends in many of their applications, you just continue to use your factory thermostat.
And yes again, we also of course make Superchips for the Mustangs as well, that's always one of the most popular musclecars, so we've always made Superchips for them.
If you like, just give us a call and we'll be happy to go over all the various details on each of these applications, and you can give it some thought.

Understand the cost issue. However, I personally would rather have a programer than a chip even if it did cost more.
I will call later once I have the truck and know all the mods I plan to do. The wife is taking my Burb so I'll have to see if she wants to do anything else to it (K&N filter, Gibson exhaust). The Mustang I'm not done with yet either (too much to list) so I think the chip will be last for it too.
BTW - Did you have a both setup at Laguna Seca WSB races last year?

Hi SuperCrewMark,
We can do that on a number of codes (software revisions inside the powertrain computer) for these vehicles, so this will depend on just what computer code your new Super Crew has when it arrives. To find that code, it's very easy, just go to the passenger side of the vehicle, and open the front passenger door. Then look in the front part of the door frame, in the area of the door hinges, and there you will find a sticker that has 3 letters and 1 number on it, and that is your vehicle's computer code.
The background on this is that we do not program these vehicles "generically", but instead, the Superchip for each vehicle is programmed to match the exact softwware revision that was loaded into your vehicle's computer form the factory; because there are 80-150 and even more different software revisions used in these F-150's in each model year alone, we make a different program for each one of them, so that the powertrain's programming is fully optimized.
The answer to your question will basically depend on just what code happens to come in that particular vehicle, when you take delivery. So if you'd like to check that code when it arrives and give us a shout by email or phone, we'll be happy to get you that info at that time.
That's a nice looking collection of vehicles in your signature line there, & congratulations on your new Super Crew!

Mike- Is this speedo correction available for a 2000, stock tires, going from 3.55 to 4.10 ratio, chipped with code ATC2? Also, 3 trans questions: Can shift firmness be increased independent of shift points? Can "each" shift point be changed by itself? Can OD and OD lockup be delayed alone? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi SCM,
Hmm, we didn't have a booth there, but Superchips themselves might have, I don't know.
We'll be happy to help whenever you're ready, so take your time, & good luck!

Hi Max,
Excellent questions!
1.) Yes, we should be able to do this for that code. Just to go over a potential worst case scenario, if the results were not correct, we can always just re-load your regular ATC2-code Superchip program and not charge you, of course.
2.) Yes, shift firmness can be adjusted separately from where the actual shift points occur.
3.) To a certain extent, yes. We can set the 1-2 and the 2-3 and the 3-4 (into Overdrive) full-throttle upshifts points where you like. We do not change the part-throttle upshifts however, unless there is a specific problem/issue as a result of gear ratio & tire size change of a rather large amount, and even then, it's pretty rare to really need to do this. The algorithms used to determine part-throttle upshift points are pretty sophisticated and work very well; the vehicle will upshift on light throttle as soon as it determines that it can upshift and not lose speed. If you feel yours needs some changes, then we should discuss this over the phone in detail, would be my suggestion.
4.) When it goes into 4th gear (OD) depends on vehicle speed & load versus throttle demand. We can set the full-throttle 3-4 upshift point, and as explained in #3 above, we really don't like to play with that on part-throttle unless there is an actual "deficit", or problem. Again, if you feel this is the case in your situation, we should go over this by phone in detail.
