Just installed my superchip in my 00 4x4
Very nice. Better shifts, higher rpm's, much more responsive. Thanks to all the advice and tips on install. Was a snap!

Mike T. and others...figured I might as well leach off of "no_boundries" thread to proclaim my SuperChips victory!
I had the "jumper" problem and I didn't know who could do the work (...I burn toast, so I won't go near a solder iron), so, working with Performance Products, Inc., an RMA #, I sent my Ford computer and the Superchip to SuperChips overnight (this happened on a Monday).
The received the computer on Tuesday, did the work and sent it back to me overnight. I received the fixed computer, with Superchip installed (and taped...nice) on Wednesday.
I left my battery out and left the lights on for 3 days (yea, overkill), installed the Superchip. Still not connecting any power, I installed a K&N FIPK GenII as well (I want SuperChips to learn with a larger air intake amount).
Happy that I put things together, as per the instructions, and all my appendeges still intact (this in itself was a major victory), I finally connected the juice (the clue that I got this right was the hood light came on).
I fired up the truck and it came to life (almost) immediatly (you oughta see that speedo tach out...kule).
A "little" test run around the block (I have really big blocks--about 10 miles worth) and I felt a difference in shifting and responsiveness (not great, but it's still learning).
What I am still tickled with is the customer service that Mike T. and Performance Products gave me. If you want testimony, here it is. I never felt in the dark, wondering what's going on. Everything was explained fully to me and everything was delivered EXACTLY as promised.
So, here is a toast the Performance Products, Inc, Superchips...and a special word to Mike T.!
Thanks! <clink>
I am now able to update my signature with something useful.

Hi murfster,
What a great post, very descriptive & funny!
In terms of what to expect the Superchip to do for the performance, it's basically about a 10%-12% power gain, so while it won't be what most of us would call a "night & day" type of difference, it's certainly noticeable, and once you get more miles on it and see how it responds in a number of different driving situations, I'm sure you'll be happy with it's bang for the buck.
Have fun & be careful,

Well, currently, after about 300 mi. (I have a long commute - NOT my primary commute vehicle, but I just had to...you know, like a new toy?), I have noticed better throttle response and shifting.
It could be just me, but I also seem to notice a throatier (that is now a word) rumble from exhaust when i do throttle jump or go WOT. Could be the new intake in combo w/the chip, but I like it (no plans to doing anything with my exhaust ... like to be a sleeper).
The percentages feel about right.

Hi Murfster,
Yes, the airbox kit will give it a throatier sound, as you will get, at heavier throttle openings, the typical intake "moan" that you used to get when you romped down on an older 4-bbl. carb motor, so that's probably what you're hearing, & you'll definitely hear that at heavy throttle. It is interesting to note that the Superchip will change the tone of the exhaust note a bit as well, giving it a little bit "sharper" tone, as the motor is now making more power at any throttle position, so that will occur all the time. It's very slight, but some people do notice it.
You mentioned wanting to keep the exhaust quiet for stealth purposes, you can do that and still open up the flow, so that you can take full advantage of the intake kit and the Superchip. The Dynomax Super Turbo cat-back systems are very quiet, they use a true turbo-style muffler, whose characteristics are good flow while being virtually as quiet as the stock system at everthing but full-throttle, and even then only a little bit more pronounced, that system could work very well for you. It's not necessary of course, you can run it with the stock exhaust just fine, it was just a quick thought.......
Good luck & have fun!
