Hi Guys,

The 1999 & newer Mustang GT gets 260+ hp out of it's 4.6 motor, while the F-150 has to have 50 more cubic inches, the 5.4 motor, to get that kind of power output. In addition to mechanical differences (cam profiles, cylinder heads, etc.), the Mustang GT is tuned more aggressively from the factory than these F-150's, which are tuned for regular gas and very conservatively at that.

The late-model GT's pick up about 15 hp and 23 lbs./ft. of torque from the Superchip, so while it's a nice gain and worthwhile, it is a bit less than the F-150's pick up, due to the fact that Ford tunes the GT like the musclecar that it is, while they tune these F-150's basically as work trucks that can run on the poorest regular fuels available across the continent.

I would suggest giving us a call or shooting us an email with your GT's computer code, and we can let you know if that one has been done yet for the '01 GT. The code sticker should be in the same place as the F-150's, in the front part of the passenger's door frame, near the door hinges. If not, then just check on the computer itself, behind the passenger's kick panel.
