Post Computer Code

Mike,
I have a problem. I just went to order a chip from you and it asked for my computer code. I saw where it told me to find the code and went out to get it off the truck. Unfortunately, I think it was taken off. It is on a sticker right? I saw a sticker that was about three quarters ripped off, i couldnt even make out anything on it anymore. How else can I get this code? I was all hyped up about getting a new toy and was shot down.

Hey Turtle9343,
I see youre a local here in AZ! Mike will answer but I wanted to put in my .02. I had the same problem, no sticker on the door, so I checked the computer box, and there was another sticker there. So check around, there may be another one somewhere..

Hi Turtle,

I'm sorry you're having a problem finding your code, let's see if we can help a bit........

If the code sticker in your door frame is missing (this is on F-150's, F-250 Light Duty, and Expeditions), then you can go to the computer itself, which will *always* have at least one code sticker on it.

The computer is located to the right of the dash assembly and above the passenger's kick panel in the above-listed vehicles. The computer will be held to it's mounting bracket by a black pressure clip, so pull that clip off (the computer will stay in place, don't worry), and then look on the back of the computer, where the black clip was covering up, and there will be another code sticker right there. These codes will be 3 letters and 1 number, and this identifies the exact software revision that was loaded into your vehicle's computer, and this is what allows us to make the program for your specific vehicle. Now, on the off chance that this code sticker is missing too, you can always just remove the computer from the vehicle, to get a look at the big sticker that is on top of every Ford ECU, for that same code.

If you have any further problems finding the code, please give us a call, and we'll be happy to go over this with you so you can find your code, ok?

All the best,

------------------
