Hey Mike,...In a recent Engine Forum, "Crash! or any other Supercharger experts" the member stated Superchip Engineers generated a code specifically for the Magnacharger. In order to extract more H.P. from the blower what recommended data stream info would be needed to fine tune the 4.6 Magnacharger,w/ a scantool?
Are there any good books published by say Peterson Publishing on superchargers that you know or would recommend?

It's not "a code" that you just plug in. It's a completely new computer program in the form of object "code" that the cpu in the truck's computer runs.

Bill Bateman's explanation is right on the money.

You cannot increase engine power with a "scantool". To increase engine power via programming requries just that, a completely new program for the powertrain, for which a performance chip is required.

In the case of Magnuson Products (Jerry Magnuson, owner), they asked Superchips to do the R&D to provide custom programs for these vehicles with the Magnucharger installed, just as Vortech and most other blower manufacturers come to Superchips for.

To do that, they had to have a number of vehicles on the dyno equipped with the Magnacharger to get the changes needed done correctly. And now that this R&D has been done, we can suppy custom programs for the Magnacharger and just about any other supercharger available for these vehicles.

I'm sorry that I can't recommend a specific title of book for you to read, other than getting up to speed on basic forced induction principles, etc. so a trip to your local library is probably in order for that. Check both non-fiction as well as the reference section, & good luck!
