Talking FamilyRide

Hey Familyride how do you like the superchip so far? I have the same code. I know our X's differ in drive trains but should have some of the same general characteristics.

Have fun.

Thumbs up

Yes, are's are different in that mines a 4x2, 3.55 LS rear but overall I like it. After driving it for a couple of months now, and now with the Airaid and Exhaust, I'm thinking I might want to tighten up my shifts even more.

It's hard to brag too much about mods like these on a 5400 Lb SUV but I can say, when I come out of a toll booth, I go first if I want to.

Power is great. Climbing up hill and accelerating is a breeze. I pass what I want, when I want (within limits of course).

Best of all, my MPG has gone way up. I used to average aroung 12.5 to 13 around town but I'm getting 15 to 16. Some examples: I reset for pure hwy from Houston back to Dallas. Yes it's flat but from there to here is more uphil than down. With the CLimate control on, I rolled into the garage at just over 18 MPG. Kept driving on that tank and drove back and forth to work for another week. Right at 500 miles on that tank and finished at 17.3 MPG. I filled up and reset the computer because I knew I would be driving the worse case "around town" type driving for the next week or so. I'm still sitting in the low 15's.

Normally I just let the mpg computer go and see what I average combined for a couple of months at a time including road trips. I'll do that again but I wanted to see what I'd get in both scenerios and had a chance, and I'm happy with it!! I think in perfect conditions, cool enough weather so I don't need to run A/C and warm enough I don't need to run heater so the climate control is off, completely, I could get close to 20 MPG at HWY speeds. It seems to get the best MPG at about 60-65 but I can't go that slow when the road is open.

So to make a short answer long, I love it, along with the other mods.
