Yep, Eddy currents have many applications and I am always curious about it when I find new ones. (new to me)

Your typical airport metal detector is really a big eddy current machine.

Eddys will pass right thru most people and clothing but when they hit metal they bend and reflect and when this happens the machine reads a difference in the amount of eddy's it sends out and the amount it is receiving.
(Kind of like radar)
