It's probably more like a buffalo chip.
Sounds too good to be true at that price.
We'll see. BTW, I've wondered why Ford wasn't offering a HP chip set. Why let the aftermarketeers have that piece of the pie???
Mike T., you can chime in here any time now.

"This site is fake and is made only for a prank ... do not take this serious and we are in NO WAY affiliated with Car and Driver or Ford Motor Company." found at the bottom fo the page in white text. Pretty good prank.
If it now says that at that site, then they added that later today, as it was not previously there. Trust me, I checked,
I'm glad they went back and did that, though, so people will know. What a prank to play on your buddy the way they did, the rascals!

Hi Screwby-Doo,
That name continually cracks me up, I love it.
I have responded to the other threads where this info has been posted as well, but I'll go over it briefly.
First, we seriously doubt that Ford is going to be able to really add 54 horsepower and 80 lbs./ft. of torque just from powertrain programming, as for the entire time they have manufactured computer-controlled vehicles, the better part of 2 decades, we have *always* made more power with our tuning than they have, and they continue to bring us vehicles to tune for them! Superchips is the only aftermarket programming firm in the world that is hired directly by the automakers, and that is due to our expertise, or this could never happen. Now we are supposed to believe that they are suddenly going to be able to make twice the power gains that we do via powertrain programming? That they have been deliberately holding this back just to prove their overall dominance in the truck market, as this "article" claims?!? I don't think so.
Let's cut to the chase here; the bottom line is, if they do happen to release some kind of device, and it actually makes anything close to those power levels, we are going to know immediately what they have done, and once again, make more power than they do, just as we always have.
I checked that site, which is very amateurish to say the least, and the article itself is rife with typo's and grammatical errors. It claims that Car & Driver is their sponsor, and provides 2 links to the C&D web site, which I followed, and then searched the C&D web site's search engine for info on this, and came up with nothing. I searched under chips, F-Mod, and everything else I could think of, and only found an article over a year old that had nothing to do with this, I came up completely empty-handed, even though this "article" claims that Car & Driver has tested the device. I talked to Car & Driver this morning, and they knew absolutely nothing about it. Nothing! I then talked directly to several sources of ours at Ford Motorsports, and they know absolutely nothing about it.
We've been hearing rumors for a long time now that Ford was going to make their own "chip", but they never have. They have always avoided the chip market entirely, and as of this morning, that is *still* Ford Motorports policy, that they have nothing to do with chips. They offer one product along these lines, the "Extender", which, for over $500, will allow a higher rev limiter on a Mustang 5.0, that's it.
Can you say "vaporware"?
You also have to question the timing of this so-called "leak", just before Christmas.
Sure, they've got a chip to bring the normally-aspirated 5.4 motor to within 20 lbs./ft. of torque of the supercharged 5.4 in the Lightning ok, and they also have the answer to world peace, I assume. Can you imagine how PO'd the Lightning owners would be?
If you want to get an idea of what it takes to get that 5.4 up to the 425 lbs./ft. of torque level, check out "Neal the HP Freak's" signature list for his mods.
