Unlocking a Superchips 1715

If I purchase a 1715 that is VIN locked, can I somehow unlock the programming without the tuned vehicle or does it have to be connected to the tuned vehicle to be unlocked?

Must be unlocked via tuned vehicle.

Maybe S.C would unlock it if you sent it to them, but they would charge you, I'm sure.

If you purchase a Micro Tuner that is VIN-locked, the only way *you* could clear that is to go back to the original vehicle that used that Micro Tuenr, and return that vehicle back to it's STOCK factory tune - *then* the MT would be unlocked so you could use it on another vehicle - now this is the "standard" 1715 unit we're talking about (the custom 9100 cannot be unlocked that way).

If you cannot get to the original vehicle that used the Micro Tuner, then the only way around that is for you to send it in to the manufacturer Superchips Inc., who will charge you a $200 fee to unlock it, so that it can then be used on another vehicle.

Good luck!

How do you like the 1715 in your Lightning?

I have a 03 L and and 99 f150 and I would like to do as you (tune 1 in winter and tune 1 in summer) so I'm just curious on how thats working out for you.

Thanks
