Ok here comes the questions:
I am looking at purchasing a super chip for my 2000 4x4. What I want to know is what can I expect to see in performance wise? Top end/low end?? HP? etc..
TIA

Hi farcus,
The rated power gains from the Superchip on your 2000 5.4 F-150 are a maximum of 28 horsepower and 46 lbs./ft. of torque at the flywheel. To look at this in percentages, the Superchip is going to give you about 10%-12% more peak horsepower, and 15%-17% more peak torque. In terms of what the engine itself is going to "feel" like as a result of installing the Superchip, I think one of the best ways to describe it is to look at the percentages, as it's going to feel like you just gained about 10%-12% more motor, is one way to put it.
There is increased power at all throttle positions, so the Superchip delivers better torque & throttle response in any situation, whether you're towing, cruising at lower rpms, or what have you. Like any gasoline engine, it's going to show it's largest gains where the power peaks, but it does work all the time, from about 1000 rpm on up, so you'll have stronger low-mid-range, and top end.
With regards to your new top speed with the Superchip, that will vary a bit. Some 5.4 short-cab 2WD F-150's can run upwards of 130 mph with the Superchip, but the heavier 154" wheelbase 4WD trucks may run "only" 115-120 mph. Your factory top speed limiter is set at anywhere from 98 to as much as 108 mph in the F-150, with most of them set at 98 mph.
You will also enjoy what the Superchip does for your automatic transmission shift characteristics and overall behavior. We remove the transitional spark retards, upshift & downshift delays as well as firming up the shifts to reduce slippage, and the overall result is a noticeable improvement in driveability and enjoyment of the vehicle.
In terms of performance gains, most F-150's see a reduction in 0-60 and 1/4 mile times of 3-5 tenths of a second. Some have reported back here with reductions in those numbers by as much as 7-8 tenths, but I think 3-5 tenths if more representative of the average gains. Again, there is potentially over a ton of weight difference in these 5.4's alone, depending on the body & mechanical configuration, so the lighter trucks of course drop their acceleration times the most, though the Superchip can be felt and works well on any of them.
If you'd like to go over this in greater detail, please feel free to give us a call, our number is just below, and we're happy to help.
Good luck with your truck,
