Neal,
JMC suggested I contact you here. I understand that you have full (read real)gauges on your truck. I have a 97 5.4l that I will be installing gagues on. What are your normal (and hi) water temp and oil pressure readings? I'm on the fence for the 100PSI Vs. the 200PSI oil pressure gauge.
Personally, I prefer the Autometer 2-5/8" Sport Comps, and will be installing them low on the center dash (above the register vent cowling) Where are yours installed? If you had it to do over, would you still install it there?
Thanks!
Tony

HI!... F-150 TONY : I have installed 3 AUTOMETER "PHANTOM" series 2-5/8 guages. I have installed them in 3 individual AUTOMETER guage pods that go on the "A" pillar. The 3 guages that I have are ENGINE COOLANT TEMP, OIL PREASURE, and TRANNY TEMP. Right now I have only two of the guages hooked up and my oil preasure gauge just happens to be the one that's not hooked up. I am having a hard time right now trying to find a fitting that will connect my guage to the braided stainless steel line I am using, and still fit in my guage pod. For which guage for you to go with, I would go with the 0-100PSI. Our trucks will never make over 100psi oil preasure, so don't bother with the 0-200PSI one. I would suspect that out trucks don't make much more than 45 PSI oil preasure. My "POWER RANGER" only makes 85 PSI! As for temp ranges : My engine coolant tempurature usually runs between 180-192 degrees. That's with me using twin 16 inch electric fans. My tranny tempurature is usually around 175-200 degrees. It only gets close to 200 degrees when I am really beating on her. (RACING)lol!

Neal,
Thanks for the reply!
You confirmed what I thought about the oil pressure. I just wasn't sure about how much pressure to expect from the crank driven oil pump.
I have the Hayden #979 trans cooler w/ 10" fan. I'm finding I only need that much cooling during the summers in Phoenix (>110F). In 100F weather, trans temp cooled to 180F (195F towing 2500lb). This week it has cooled to the mid 90's and trans has cooled to 150-165. The fan doesn't even come on anymore (Hayden electronic control).
Thanks Again!

Hey Neal,
A lot of people have asked, so I thought this might be right up your alley...
How about posting a new thread, telling everyone how to bring up those "secondary" digital gauges in the odometer display?

Boy,it would be sharp to have the gauges
in the dash where the factory ones are.
They would look sharp with the bezels
sitting against the white face gauges....
Anyone know if this would be possible,
without damaging the pc board on the back of the cluster?
