Mike, my turn to ask a question?
I had talked to you before on the phone and was going to upgrade the gears on the Expy to 4.10's. What I was wondering was, if I bought a superchip now for stock gears and do the 4.10's later, how much will it cost for me to get it reprogrammed? I want to put the gears in now, but the Impala needs a new Posi and a few other items that I'd like to get done first and there is only so much $$$ to go around. But, I want the power gains of the chip now so it will help me tow.

Hi PullsmySS,
Yes, the Superchip is a flash design, so it can always be updated for that vehicle at any time in the future. And, the charge for the custom programming to correct for the 4.10 gears is the same later as it is at the original time of purchase, which works very nicely in this exact type of situation.
For the exact cost, please contact us off of the message boards for that info, as the Webmaster here asks that we not discuss
things like pricing, shipping status inquiries, etc., here on the message boards, and thanks very much in advance for your understanding on this!
With an ET of 12.50's and a trap speed in the 109-110 mph range, that is one serious normally-aspirated 383 SS! I enjoyed talking with you about that when you called the other day, I've owned a bunch of LT1's as well, it's one of my favorite GM engines. To see it hauling a way-heavy Impala SS to mid-12's and those kinds of trap speeds is a nice treat.
So please just shoot us a quick email, or feel free to give us another call, and we'll be more than happy to go over all of that in detail with you.

Thanks for the info Mike! I think I will call you and order one of the chips asap, I'd drop you an email right now,but I have to go home and get the computer code off te door area. BTW, did Joe Prince get a hold of you? I gave him all of the Superchips info and he was very interested in doing business with you guys.
GOFISH- you are right in one aspect, it seems if I don't get something done right away, it doesn't get done for a while (just built my deck 3 years after putting pool in), BUT I rater put money into the SS right now than that darn truck. Which one would you rather upgrade though- A lanky SUV that was bought for a purpose or a sleek 525HP sleeper that throws you into the seat so hard it's tough to breathe?
Right now it's not as fun to light up the tires since the posi is shot (due to high HP) and only one tire smokes.
Later guys,
Bryan

Hi Pulls,
No, we haven't heard anything from Joe so far.
Sorry to hear you trashed the posi! When you're putting that kind of torque thru a heavy vehicle, trannys & third members can start to protest.
It's great having that kind of power, isn't it?

Way2Big, No it's not a Lingenfelter motor. It was built be JPR in New Jersey. He's a small outfit, but makes some awesome power with the LT1's. Lingenfelter is restricted by emissions and warranty longevity. But there stuff is pretty good too. They also want 2-3 times the $$$$ for a 383.
And yes, it is loads of fun having enough power to destroy parts except when having to pay to replace them

Hi Pulls my SS,
You made a very good point about John Lingenfelter. While his stuff is very nice, makes great power, and he's won every "shootout" for the LT1's LS1's etc. that we've ever seen published, he sure is expensive! His facilities are fabulous, with many different types of chassis dynos, and resources far beyond what most shops can ever afford, that must be where all that money goes!
There is no doubt that reliable & powerful LT1/LS1 packages can be built, whether stroked 383's, 406's or whatever, cheaper than what John charges. And your SS is proof of that!
