Thumbs up Install suggestion for future Superchip owners...

To all,

When I installed my Superchip, I noticed that the coating was more pliable than I thought it would be. I used the plastic cover, which is where the chip is attached, and with sight downward pressure "scrapped" the coating off. Obviously the plastic didn't remove any metal. Then i used the corner edge of the the same ocver and scrapped the excess between the leads to ensure good contact. After this was completed I then used the scotch brite pad to complete the "cleaning" of the contacts. This is visible due to the "scratches" on the leads that occur. After all that, it basically left the entire contact area clear of any coating.

Good Luck to all and YES it does work, in more was than on!! Thanks Mike!!

Hi Way,

Interesting technique you used for removing that clear conformal coating.

That can work nicely when the coating is thick & pliable like that, usually it's not. What we find is when the coating is really thick, it tends to be more pliable, and some guys have even been able to do this using a fingernail, believe it or not, when it's thick & pliable like that.

Thanks for your post!
