still shuts down at 95
I just had a chance to run my truck on top end. It still shuts down at 95 mph. What gives? I tried in both drive and overdrive so I know it wasnt hitting the rev limiter. On another note does anyone else get a tire chirp from first to second? This thing hits the gears hard. In no way am I complaining, just wondering if this is normal with the superchip.
Mine lays a 2nd gear scratch if shifted manually, but not auto.

Hi Adam,
I'd suggest giving us a call, and let's see what's going on with your program. The top speed limiter should be gone.

Adam, Let me know what happens. I have been having the same problem for a while. What type of shut down is it doing (sound like and such). I have a YBQ2 code, but I don't think that it is a specific program problem.

Hi Adam,
Give us a call, we have you taken care of.
Mumbly, his problem has nothing to do with yours, it's completly different issue, not a custom setup like yours with data stream conflicts. In his RAY4 code, it looks like 1 byte was missed in the program, and that was taken care of. That particular code is very rare, and seen only in 1997 4.2 V-6 F-150's.
Mumbly, as we have discussed, I don't think anything other than a dyno session is going to take care of finding the source of the conflict in your VSS data stream in your highly customized & supercharged vehicle, as every possible method of removing the TS limiter has already been done. Your problem is still the same VSS data stream conflict that it's always been, and until that is taken care of, it's not going to change. Nor does it have anything to do with anyone else's truck, this is strictly a problem with your particular setup. Removing the top speed limter in the YBQ2 & YBQ3-codes was done long ago, and nobody else is having that problem with that code, as I've mentioned to you in our previous discussions. There are *hundreds* of YBQ2's running the Superchip with no TS limiter, and thousands of YBQ3's.

Mike, Sorry for the late responce. Had some things keeping me away from the computer. I understand your point except the configuration. I had this problem from the start, Roush stuff only not the supercharger. I'm still looking for a roush driver that has a superchip that has tested the top end, this will answer if it is the configuration, maybe.
As for the Dyno I just wish that the dyno test that is needed would not make me drive to Florida. If it could be done here in Dallas heck I would jump on getting it done. I would hate to drive out to the Superchip facility and they work on it and turn to me and say sorry we can't fix it. It's a big gamble.
As for now I don't have the chip in at all. For some reason it stalled out on me at the Texas Heat Wave, bad timing when your the lead of 25 trucks. I believe that it came loose so I jumped into the passenger floor board and yanked it out. This seemed to work since the truck started up. I have then placed it in good. Velcroed tight but it happended again. Maybe it's loose conection between the chip and the board, who knows. If you have any ideas on this let me know.

Hi Mumbly,
Hmmm, it sure sounds like you could possibly have a thinner-than-normal edge connector if you're having that problem. Perhaps you might want to give us a quick call about that, as there are a couple of solutions.
I agree with you about there being several unanswered questions about this configuration in your truck, from the Roush package to everything else, and it's going to be very interesting to see just what it turns out to be. How I wish we could have you just jump on a dyno there in Texas to get that data, but that of course won't help. What we need to do is to get you on the dyno and re-create that situation while doing a real-time data capture to see just what the program is doing and why. Once that is done then we'll know the reason it's been doing this all this time.
It's been doubly frustrating for you because your code, the YBQ2, when that standard-program Superchip was originally released, the top speed limiter had not yet been defeated for that code, it was about 4-5 weeks later that this was done. So there have indeed been other YBQ2's that didn't have their top speed limtier removed at first with the YBQ2-code Superchip, but they were pretty much updated as soon as that function was taken care of. Which reminds me by the way, I asked "Dunbarton" from here on F-150 Online when he was at the Norfolk Rally, if he had ever checked his TS limiter in his YBQ2-truck, and he hadn't. Though there are a number of other YBQ2-code Superchip owners out there, he was the only one I could think of that I could immediately identify by screen name that I knew had the same YBQ2 code as you. He said he had never driven his truck much over about 80 mph or so, roughly, so he has never tested his out. Since he got one of the early ones, I would bet that he too may still have it, in which case we should update him, if he ever desires to go over 100 mph.
At any rate, give me a shout when you get a chance, and let's go over this connection thing, this should be very easy to take care of.
