Cool

"AndyU"
If I remember correctly the "Sport Truck' system exits in front of the rear wheel with dual pipes similar to the Lightning. The Sweptside (which I have) is one pipe and exits behind the rear wheel, just like factory on the 2000s. Might not be too late to cancel and reorder. I got mine from Truck Performance Center, some one else, "Boss" I think, got his from CarParts.com, and I think they have a 33% off coupon on thier website.
Good Luck

Hey Andy,

You should check with your dealer for the TSB that Ford has for those 97's with the side exhaust. A lot of people have had their wheels replaced by FOrd because of this, that side exhaust tends to turn the wheels green & corrode them.

You shouldn't have any trouble getting Ford to replace them for you, whether you are the original owner of the vehicle or not. If your dealership doesn't want to help you, ask them for the name & phone number of their Ford Zone Rep., and take it up with the Zone Representative, ok?

Make sure and do this *before* you install the aftermarket exhaust!

Good luck, & let us know what happens,

"Andy",
OK I am with you, my feeble brain confused the "Sport Truck" system with the "Super Truck" system, which is similar to the Lightning system, i.e. exits in front of rear wheels. Sorry for the mix up and any confusion I caused you. I was seriously considering the "Sport Truck", but was talked out of it by a techie at Truck Performance, he said the Sweptside is specifically designed for towing and serious off roading and would provide no loss of, infact better low end torque, and that the Sport Truck was more engineered for sound and high end performance etc. Let us know what you think of your system when you get it installed. Best of luck.

Hi Andy,

Well, I just don't know for sure, but Ford has replaced many, many wheels because of that exhaust design on the 1997 models, so it's at least worth a try. Just do like I mentioned, and talk first to your dealer, and then to the Zone Rep., and see if they'll go for it, they've done it for many other owners of those 97's.

Good luck!
