Question question about mods and chip

I have a just a plain super chip. I have added headers cat-back exhaust, new poweraid intake system. I was wondering if I should modify the chip to work with my other mods. Or can't you modify it? Or does the computer already adjust for the more air and better exhaust? Thanks

Hi Christrucker,

Between your mass airflow sensor and your O2 sensors, they do a good job of automatically compensating for incremental increases in airflow. So things like K&N air filters, cat-back exhausts, and even headers are usually just fine.

We see about 15% of the time that when headers are added to a vehicle that already has an airbox elimination kit, a cat-back exhaust and a Superchip, we will need to adjust the fuel curve just a bit to compensate for the headers, but 85% of the time this is not needed even in that configuration I just listed.

Now if we went ahead and did a custom program for the headers, we can pick up a few more horsepower for you, 4-5 more horsepower on average. If you might be interested in that, just give us a call at our number below and we'll be happy to go over that with you.

From the looks of your signature line you've got a very nice truck there!

Have fun,
