Post Jet Chips

Does anyone have any information about these chips? Are any of them better than the others? I am going to install on my 99 Lariat, but want some assistance first. Thanks

Look up paperweight in the dictionary and you'll see a picture of a Jet Chip. Do a search on "jet" in this forum and you'll get all the info you need not to JET.

Thumbs up

I'll be the first to say it, SUPERCHIP IT!!!
Don't waste your time trying different chips just to be unsatisfied. When I drove my truck off the lot, I liked it, but it wasn't the big blocks I was used to. Less than a month later I called Mike and got the best improvement for the money yet. It's still not a 460 but it'll eat the hell out of the chevies.

My 2000 F-150

If it looks good
you'll see it
If it sounds good
you'll hear it
If it's marketed right
you'll buy it
But..if it's real
you'll feel it

Cool

...and I'll be the second to say it, "Superchip It"!! It is the single biggest bang for the buck you'll spend on your truck.

Hi mikey88,

You did yourself a big favor by coming here and asking and getting some feedback here before you rush out and buy the Jet chip. Jet chips really don't do much, and most of the people here who have run both are using their Jet chip as a paperweight. They stated that they preferred the Superchip by far.

Now of course since we market the Superchip, our opinion is going to be considered as biased. The nice thing here on F-150 Online is that you can get good feedback from others who have already done it, so you can avoid making a mistake.

Just to give you a little bit of specific product info, the Superchip is much different than any other chip for these vehicles. Each Superchip is programmed for each specific vehicle, according to the exact software revision that your computer was loaded with from the factory. Jet and others are programmed "generically", meaning only 1 program for all 1997 4.6 F-150's, for example. So with the Superchip you get a chip that was made specifically for your individual truck, and not a "generic" program that has been compromised to run on all similar trucks.

Also, the Superchip is the only one that works *all* the time, and not just on WOT (wide-open throttle). You see, the emissions laws are structured so that even on a brand new vehicle, during full-throttle operation there are no emissions standards that have to be met. So if you as a chipmaker only modify full-throttle parameters, you lower your R&D costs dramatically, and do not have to do all of the involved emissions testing and independant certification that Superchips does.

So you get a chip that works all the time, and that was made specifically for your vehicle, with the Superchip.

You will also gain more power with the Superchip, as well as having far more thorough and beneficial changes made to the program itself as compared to any other chipmaker.

Superchips is the company that invented this entire industry, and the concept of a "power chip", back in 1983. They are the only aftermarket programming firm hired directly by many of the world's major automakers, and that gives them a wealth of expertise & experience you just can't get anywhere else.

Please feel free to give us a call at our number listed below and have us go over all the specific details with you about your vehicle, we're happy to help.

And talking to other people here is also a great idea, I'm glad you dropped by! You should get plenty of good feedback to consider.

Best of luck with your truck,
