Question Speed Limiter?

Does the superchip for the 5.4L engine have a speed limiter on it that prevents you from going past 100MPH? If that is occurring, is there a problem with the chip? I didn't think so but a friend of mine with a chip is having this problem. Thanks!

Hi Indigo,

As a loose general rule, the top speed limiter should be removed, however, not always. Superchips does this as part of their normal modifications, but it must be *requested*, otherwise you may not get this function removed.

We always have them removed automatically for all our customers.

There can sometimes be instances where say, a brand vehicle with a new computer code will come along, and need a different technique to get rid of the top speed limiter. In those cases, it's always a free "upgrade" when the top speed limiter function has been removed. I don't know if that might be the case with your friend perhaps.

You can tell your friend to give us a call if he has any questions, we'll be happy to try and help him.

Good luck!
