Cool Mike T... Question for you..

First off I have a 1999 orp 4x4 4.6 supercab. As far as engine work done the only things I did right now was 1-K&N airfilter and took out the silencer in the airtube. Thinking of getting the chip. I know that I have to run the high octane but will the chip cause more gas guzzling or be the same or better. I just want to have this truck shift a little better and be able to have the truck sort of like stick me into the seat. What is the going price for a chip and what is the address or phone # or internet address. Thanks for the help and I will probably order in a few weeks.

P.S. Any info updates on Virginia.......Thanks again.....steve

steveo, let me jump in here for a minute. You are up at 03:00 in Central Jersey. How about keeping me company in the chat room some night. Maybe meet for 2am lunch (night owl rally)on the parkway rest stop (south of the Raritan tolls. I'm just off 287 at exit 10.
(Does your girl know what's in your profile?)

Okay, and now back to Mike Troyer...

Dear Steveo,

The Superchip tends to help gas mileage in these vehicles, most people with V-8 F-150's tend to pick up 1.5 - 2.0 mpg. It's simply a by-product of the performance tuning on part-throttle, so your results will depend on how you drive your vehicle, just like before the Superchip. Basically, anytime you're not using heavy throttle, you should see a bit of an improvement.

With regards to specific pricing, please contact us privately for that info, our email & phone contact info is below for your convenience. You will also find below the URL link that will take you directly to the Performance Products F150online Superchip ordering system, so you can place your order online if you like.

Just to give you an idea of what to expect from the Superhicp performance-wise, on the 4.6 engine it adds 26 hp. & 40 lbs./ft. of torque. However, it can bbe hard to equate a certain horsepower figure into what teh vehicle is actually going to *feel* like with the Superchip. The best way to describe that, is to think of it it terms of percentages. The Superchip adds 10%-12% more power, and that is what to expect from the vehicle with it installed. In other words, you'll have about 10%-12% more power as a result.

If you'd like more detailed info, please feel free to give us a call, we'll be happy to go over all the specifics of the Superchip for your vehicle with you.

Have fun,

Mike do you have a programmer? My computer needs the jumpers saudered and my truck is a daily driver SO I need my truck daily. I just put in a 9.5" stall and one of the requirements are I have to lock out torque converter lockup during wide open throttle to get full multiplication. I could put a switch in to manually turn it off but I don't like that ideal. I'd rather the computer took care of that. Any ideas.

Hi Stewdog,

Yes, just give us a call and we can go over all of that with you, including how to solder the jumpers, it's very easy.
