Question Which chip to use

I am finding lots of good information on these message boards so maybe Mike can help me. I have a 1997 F-150 super cab with 4.6L, Jacobs DIS ignition and K&N generation II. Also have performance cat back.
My question is will the chips work well with my modifications? Also I switched my wheels from the stock 16 inch to 17 inch off road package. This has an effected on the kick down and has made an already sluggish shifting tranny into more of a dog. Can this be corrected with the superchip?
You can e-mail me the information but perhaps there are others with these questions. Also e-mail me with the price of the superchip and the flip chip.
Thanks...

Dear WLF,

Each Superchip is programmed for each specific vehicle's computer code, so each vehicle basically gets the benefit of a complete custom workup for it's own characteristics. To locate your vehicle's computer code, simply open your passenger door, and look in the front part of the door frame, in the general area of the door hinges, and you'll see a sticker with 3 letters and a number on it, and that is your computer code. If your sticker has been removed, give us a shout and I'll let you know where else to find it, it's easy.

Now with regards to your modifications, the changes you made to your intake & exhaust won't affect the program in the Superchip, they work very well together, and are the most popular mods you see in most trucks here, so you're on the right track.

The Jacob's ignition has no effect on the computer's programming.

With regards to the changes you made to your wheel & tire size, yes, they can cause problems like those you mentioned, and yes, we can easily take care of that for you. You are quite correct in that many people are making tire size changes, and if they are changed by more than a certain amount, you can pick up problems in the automatics with things like upshift points, downshift points, top speed limiter changes, etc. What happens is the computer gets it's data regarding vehicle speed from several sources, and uses them to compare and verify that data. So when there is a conflict in the VSS data stream, these types of problems can result.

You'll need to contact us for the other information, as we do not have your email address, so either drop us an email, or just give us a call, our contact info is listed below in my signature line. We'll be happy to go over the details with you, so you can decide which is the most effective for your specific needs.
