I'm chipped, it's currently out though...gathering mileage data for the naysayers. It may not be benefiting me in the manner needed. Oxygenated gas and mountains/ hills are really killing any economy.

Dear rmarietta,

Hey Ron, give me a call when you get a chance, I think I can help your situation, since you already have that AAT3 Superchip. AAT3 is for a 1999 V-6 F-150, and since your new truck is a 2000, I can probably reflash that AAT3 chip to your new computer code for you, and at a price far less than a new Superchip would cost, since you purchased it from us to begin with. If you're interested, just give me a shout!

Dear Spaceace,

You too?!? We're currently doing the same thing with my wife's Ranger, for the same reason, to document before & after fuel mileage here in the mountains of Virginia. We're not really up high in elevation, nothing higher than about 2000 ft above sea level where we live. This Ranger is a 4.0, like her last few Explorers. Each one of her previous 4.0 Explorers picked up 2.5 to 3.0 mpg even with the driving conditions we have here, which is just an indication of how conservatively programmed the 4.0 engine is. That's a little bit more of an increase in gas mileage than most V-8 F-150's see, of course, as they tend to average about 1.5 to 2.0 more mpg at best, usually. I'd love to hear what numbers you get too!

All the best,
