Maybe .... I am trying to get his truck on the same landfill scale I used to weigh mine to get an estimante of the weight/hp ratio. It will be interesting to see what his weight is being a RC SB but in 4x4......

He is not interested in performance mods, only "audio" mods if you know what I mean. Of course that will keep him broke too!

By the way, had a friend who took his '98 Park Avenue Ultra to the strip couple weeks ago. It's the little 240 hp supercharger on the 3.8 V-6 at 3580 lbs. At 87 degrees farenheit and 78% RH he turned a 15.27 @ 89.22 mph. Impressive and he is not experienced at all. With more favorable weather, SuperChip and more experience this could easily be a sub 15 luxury cruiser. Stay away from them .......

HI!... Well boys and girls, Neal(the h.p freak) got another chevy tonight. Actually it was about 25 minutes ago. Around 2:00 am I decided to go to the local street strip and see who was racing. Well after shooting the @#$% with some of the guys I asked this guy with a mint condition "87" white MONTY CARLO SS , 3.73, POSI, AUTO, 305H.O if he wanted to run my truck. He agreed with a laugh. So the first time we ran I spun the tires almost all the way through 1st gear and hate to say I lost by 1.5 car lengths. Then I asked him if he wanted to run again. He said yes, this time with no laugh. So this run I did'nt stall it up, I just let it idol and when the starter said go I just smashed the gas. This time I only spun for about 5 feet and ended up beating him by about 1 foot. Not bad considering I out weigh him by about 1000lbs. I can't wait to get my SUPERCHIP working, my shift kit and my 4.10's installed and then I want to run him again.

For *hits and grins, I ran my 96 4x4 against my Chevy 3/4 ton 2wd work truck. My maintenence guy at work bet me "no way in *ell you can keep up". I have to admit I had my doubts because the work truck seems so much zippier around town because the 2wd thing. The work truck is a 93, 350 auto with a 373 rear. So, we went at it from a 20 roll. Well we managed to get on at the same time and by the time hit 70, his headlights were dead even with my rear bumper. We would stay even until my 5.0 would tach into the 4000rpm range and then I would get a little gain. PLEASE don't misunderstand me, I love that work truck. It's been VERY good to me. So in the end, I thouroughly enjoyed the lunch I won from my maintenence guy while he was eating his humble pie.

I can't belive these Dodge owners.
Some kid came up beside me in his dakoda sport revving his engine.
Laughing at the V6 decal on the side of the truck I decided to go ahead and kick his ego down a notch.
He obvoisly has a stick shift and air off.(I had air on 95 too hot for me)
I let him keep up with me till he hit 2nd then I put my foot down and dusted him.
Anyone please tell me why nobody with some real competition wants to race?
Then again what real competition does a Ford have except another Ford?
I'm going to continue to pass us any engine mods till I can get some real competition around thes parts.

Well I have to agree about those (stupid) Dodge drivers. I was going to the credit union, taking the back roads and blowing off every one (it was sat. 11:50 am and you know what that means) including a Big "ol dodge. When I get to the red light, I get in the right lane because I have to cross two SB lane an island and two NB lanes, then turn into the CU drive. This idiot who obviously became embarraassd when he saw the "Andthensometoo Ford" as I passed him and couldn't catch me then, decides to get in the left lane. Now any one with half a brain would think that either I am turning right or going to the CU, because I would surely have gotten in the left lane (having gotten there first and having plenty of time) knowing the right one ends after the CU. When the light turns I hear him squeal, so I hit it and kept a "hair" ahead of him across all the lanes until it was time to turn. I laughed to myself as I thought: Gee I hope he didn't think he was saving face by trying to race an unsuspecting person to the cut off. Had he indicated he wanted a peice of my Ford, (which he obviously didn't want to do, scared, I guess) I'd have dusted him, if the bank wasn't about to close or if HE had enough money to cash my check.....Naw, I probably make more money than him too.

 

hey, i resemble those dodge remarks, can't buy a street race in my dodge, even the kids in the v6's and riceboy cars, know what a blown v-10 can do to the ego (major shrinkage)

 

Do you guys think I can take my cousins 98' DOdge Dakota Sport, Reg cab, Shortbed , 3.9 L V6, Auto, Muffler, Airfilter? He claims to run 0-60 in 7.8 seconds. I think he will have me up to about 40-50 then Ill take over from there. What do you guys and gals think?

46, If it went like my little encounter did there won't even be a contest.
I do have the 5.4L (stock), but you have all the mods.
Our trucks problably have similar performance.
I blew away the dodge V6 (stick shift) that I raced without even blinking.
BTW I personally think a stick has a lot more takeoff than a comparable automatic

I have beaten the V-6 Dakotas before. They are scrappy little trucks. Gave one the edge at a light some time back as I didn't know if he wanted to go but pulled past him and was pulling away easily by 60.

The V-8s are a different story ........ and no more R/Ts! Geez!
