My truck wouldn't chirp at all before installing the chip since I have 4x4 and LS. About the only time it would is when making a tight right turn. Now it will chirp when starting off straight. Even better than that I can now power brake it! The superchip made a huge difference, well worth the money.

K&N , Flowmaster cat-back w/3" chrome tips. Bosch+4 plugs, Superchip.
Patriot fiberglass toneau cover, Westin chrome step bars.
Future mods: underdrive pulleys,4" lift, 16.5 wheels with 33's,ram air hood, and someday a supercharger.

You may have coined another slogan for a bumper sticker at the drag races...
"If your tires are spinning the other guy is winning."

Cool

Here's my 2-cents worth. I can chirp my tires fairly easily. My truck is not 'chipped' - yet (Hi Mike). But I wonder if the biggest difference is in the hardness of the rubber compound of the tires. For the record, I'm running Goodyear Wrangler AP 255/70r16's They've got almost 49,000 miles on them now. By measurement, they've got 7/32nd's tread left (not bad huh?). They are a hard rubber compound and that leads me to think they will break traction pretty easy.

What kind of tires are you 'none-spinning' folks running?

I'm running Goodyear Wrangler AT/S LT 265/70R17's and can't get em to spin, except on damp or sandy pavement.

My little 230 horse v6 will light em up at will. It's got 24k on it and is on it's second set of tires. For some reason I can't keep from spinning the tires. :-) Rainy roads can be really tricky. It's a little better with these Michelins but it will still smoke em in first. It'll smoke em into second if you get serious about it, but if you do then this six makes too much noise and scares me. :-(

What up with all them big bad v8 engines? Afraid of a little tire smoke?

A guy at work has a 97 f150 4x4 with a 4.6 and auto tranny. He really suprised me one day with a full blown, power brake burn out. I dont think I would want to do that with my truck. I have however nailed it just to see what would happen. About three feet of rubber from both tires. (no bark)

Oh yeah, it's Oxford White with crome wheels, Legacy shell & custom grill.

The tires on my '94, 4.9L, 5-speed will spin easily without popping the clutch.

It has a K&N Filtercharger, Gibson cat-back, and Goodyear Eagle GT II (P255/70 R15) tires with custom aluminum wheels.

And if I stomp on the gas pedal when taking off the rear end will bounce. Granted, I do that very rarely. No need to waste those tires...
