Unhappy DOWN THE ROAD, OFF THE ROAD, SMASHES AND DENTS.

HI!... Well guys and girls the "H.P FREAK" freaked out today. Apparently when my mother was over today she forgot she parked in front of me and "BANG!" she smashed into the front of my truck. Let's just say that I was not pleased and leave it at that. Damage consists of licence plate destroyed, tinted plastic plate cover destroyed, bumper paint is scratched and peeling, licence plate plastic bracket destroyed and entire grey/black lower valance destroyed. All this damage was done buy a little "97" ESCORT WAGON. The bumper on her car is so low that it pretty much took out everything below my bumper. Thank GOD she at least spared my **** CEPECK driving lights. Her car just got alot of scratches. So I went down to the local FORD dealer and got the prices to fix my truck alla mom. I was very suprized when the parts guy told me that the lower valance for my "99" was only $50.00(can). I had him check it 3 times! The licence plate bracket was only $7.00(CAN) and I can get another tinted plate cover for $5.00(can). So I figured I'd post this thread for us F-150'ers that just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. (sounds like the story of my life!)8-)

Well, at least it sounds like Ford is looking up the prices in the wrong book or something. I hope you got everything in writing

When I first got my truck, about 3 months later I was leaving the YMCA and there was a car infront of me. Well, she pulled out onto the street, I looked right then left to see if I could make it. The car coming was a pretty good ways away. I pulled out as I was looking left and WHAM, the car that pulled out before me had changed its mind and was backing up. I had a small quarter sized dent in my front bumper to the left of the air dam, the licence plate was hanging on by one clip, and the hole for the foglight on the passenger side was "reshaped". It was hardly noticable to most people when I removed the hanging licence plate, but it was horrendous to me. The girl's car I hit got the worst of it, it was an old 80's style Chevette or something. I was only going about 5mph, but her tailight got broken out by my tow hook and her trunk was pushed up and forward. Luckily she had been hit about 5 times before me, so I got to pay for all her repairs.

As for my truck, first chance I got, I bought a brand new chrome front bumper and had everything else put on it. Looks great!

Triton46: you had to pay to fix her car!!! When she was backing up into you??? yeek!! I bet your extreamly careful about pulling out now. I know a lady that pulled onto a one way street going right. She stoped, looked left, no one coming, pulled out to go and wham. Hit someone coming the wrong way!! My friend had to pay for everything! Just does'nt seem right.

Had my new truck for a month.
Still smelled new.
Installed a beautiful $1200.00 Centuary Royal cab-high cap.
A few days later....
Tried backing into the garage with the cap door up....
It IS a terrible thing to see a grown man cry.
Getting misty eyed just thinking about it.
Have to get some kleenex now.

Don't feel too bad. Did the same thing. Fortunately I was able to repair it myself.

I too can attest that the garage can be a very dangerous place for our trucks

I pulled in my garage with my ******* tonneau cover up. Now I have a scratch about 6 inches from the end of the cover. Seems we can all pull a stupid stunt now and then. Makes mw a little more patient when driving and someone does somethng I don't car for. I try to think, I could have done that.

Don't feel so bad. Last year my uncle finially decided to buy a Lincoln Navigator 4x4, brand new almost $50k!! Well he was used to driving his Honday Accord and took his new truck into the employee parking garage where he works and finds out at 10-15 mph that it's 3" taller than the garage!! Isn't Monday a bad way to spend one seventh of your life!?

Instead you ran like CHEVY from a FORD. P.S-- It's o.k guys + gals GSXR is a good freind of mine that obviosly is into street bikes. He just bought a computer and is screwing around with me.

Neal, are you sure? Just say the word if you want some of us to work him over for ya.

Of course, if what he says is true about the oil change, you'll have to remove at least two mods and scrape off the F150online sticker.
