Post mods and chips

Hey,
I know I read it somewhere awhile back. But search isn't working and I've been reading for 228 minutes (according to aol)trying to find it. Soooo, can someone tell me about installing chips and whether you should modify perfomance items first vs after?
I appologize and thank you in advance.

Thumbs up

It doesn't matter which order
I added the air filter first, cat-back second and the chip third. Other's have started with the chip. But it doesn't matter. Your computer is a continuous learning one, so after each mod, it learns

I followed the same as Tina except I added a TransGo Shift Kit and then the Superchips. I and the Superchips/computer are still learning.

Dear MarkG,

First, welcome to F150online! Second, with the Superchip, you can install it in any order you like, because it's a "flash" design, meaning it can always be updated. Also, it depends on exactly *what* modifications you are talking about doing. For example, just about anything you do to reduce restriction on either the intake or the exhaust side will help power, and will work well with the Superchip, so things like K&N air filters, the Airaid kit, headers, or a cat-back exhaust system, none of those things requires a custom program, so no adjustment to the Superchip is required. The only time you need to adjust your Superchip program is when you do *major* mechanical modifications, things such as superchargers, ported cylinder heads, camshaft changes, etc. The nice thing about the Superchip is even if you install a supercharger, say, 5 years after you get your Superchip, your investment is still protected, you can have your Superchip updated for a small custom programming fee.

The Superchip was changed to a "flash" design 3-4 years ago, in response to customers who wanted to be able to install the Superchip first, because it adds the most power.

So you're protected when you purchase the Superchip, and you can install it at any time. Most people do it first, simply because it's the best bang-for-the-buck, but you can do it anytime.

If you are interested in the Superchip, we provide a special exclusive discount to F150online members, please contact me privately for the details, our contact info is below.

Welcome again to F150online!
