Post SuperChip And Computer Type

In my never ending quest to get enough information to convince my wife that the SuperChip will work with my truck, I have been required to ask if anyone out there has put the Superchip on a 4.2L V6? If you have, did you put it on a computer with the POA1 code.

Thanks

Randy

The superchip will work for all Ford trucks! Especially your 4.2 Liter V6! It will gain 25hp and 31 ft lbs of torque! You will also get an addition of 2-4 mpg more! It will also firm up your shifts too! Its better than the rest of the chips because unlike the others, it works all the time. Not just at WOT {wide open throttle.} This should convince your wife!

Future Mods:
1)Superchip
2)Airbox Mod

Dear Forguer,

Yes, there are numerous posts here from V-6 owners of Superchips. We just had one fellow here on F150online (in the thread about quickest 1/4 mile times with the Superchip)report reducing 1/4 mile time by just under a full second, and added 4 mph to the trap speed. The real key is the fact that it works all the time, so depending on how you drive, you could see a nice improvment in fuel mileage. This is merely a by-product of the optimized spark advance on part-throttle, so your mileage results will depend on your operating conditions, but the *potential* for better mileage is there.

If you take the time to read thru the various sections here in the Computer Chips catagory, you will find numerous V-6 owners who are Superchipped, and loving it.

Good luck with your wife! I'm glad you're doing this with her knowledge, believe me, you're better off. I just had one member's wife call me on the phone this evening, demanding to know how her husband paid for what he bought, and by the way, what is it, etc., etc. In other words, it was a surprise to her, and she was none too happy about it, either. Especially when I told her she would have to ask her husband, as we refuse to get in the middle of that kind of situation, whew!

All you readers, take notice of this, and make sure you *include* your wife if you know you should, fellows, it's so much better when you don't have to hide it!

Oh, and just so you know, all the '97 & up V-6's respond basically the same, regardless of computer code. 25 hp & 31 lbs./ft. of torque.
