well guys the " no start syndrome" has got the best of me..after countless attempts at trying to get my chip to work i have been unsucessful.i have payed 50 bucks to have a performance shop look at it, and i have paid 10 bucks to have the jumpers connected and still no start.see classifieds for chip for sell..computer code fug3, i would like to thank you mike, your efforts were great ,as were rob at superchips...i realize that sending everything to superchips might help, but it would be impossible for me to be on foot for 2 maybe 3 days..i guess i will have to settle for just looking fast...

Spydog,

Hey, sorry to hear you got caught in the Ford "no start" with a SuperChip. I had that same experience too and I believe I was the first of the '99s. Was I disappointed? Sure, but Mike Troyer and SuperChips settled me down and explained it all. SuperChips had my cumputer and SuperChip fully operational and back to me in 2 days door-to-door. It's all history now and no other company of any kind that I know off performed so well in customer satisfaction and promptness. Mike Troyer will be a friend for life .........

Is there a way you could borrow a vehicle for two days? You are missing out on some fun with a SuperChip.

spydog,
For the $60 spent you could have rented an Escort for 3 days. It'll still be worth it to ship off the computer. Go for it.

Accidental Duplicate Post so I thought I would put something interesting here.

I saw a site today that said you could join their mailing list by entering you email and your email address wouldn't be RELIESED to anyone, ever.

Just how do you RELIESE something?

I don't know which performance shop you went to but how can they see fit to charge you for services they didn't do. I mean a monkey can look at a board and shake his no. This is all they did. I'd want my $50 back. I took mine to a local electronics shop and they did it for free. I got to talking with the old guy about Fords and electronics business while I stood over his shoulder in the back of his shop. Nice old guy. He was considering chipping his old Ford one day too, so I gave him the URL. Maybe we'll see him on here. I was pretty Pissed when mine wouldn't start but fortunately she runs good now. Just got my Cobra 148 GTL installed with dual wilsons and my Line-X spray in liner has an appointment on Sat. 19th. After that I am done with mods for a while.

Spydog, Logan,

Logan,

Yep, the right shop could have fixed mine too but didn't know where to find one so I just sent it back. Felt better that it would be done correctly. You will like your spray in liner, I have a Rhino and it looks and functions great.

Spydog,

Been down that road a few times with "Bad hair day" and when it all goes wrong everything turns to s$*t. Believe me, sending it to SuperChips will make you feel better when you have the chance if you haven't been successful locally.

You are entitled to what you are asking for with your SuperChip. I was PO'ed just like you until I understood the situation better and almost gave it all up too. Mike Troyer is more than a distributor for SuperChips, he demands his clients are 100% satisfied...

Hang in there guy.

spydog: If you even think you might rent a car for your vacation... rent the car now for 2-3 days, send off your chip to mike and then take your truck on vacation. This would cost you less in car rental because you will be renting for less days. Plus you will then be in your own superchipped truck!! The difference that chip makes to your truck will amaze you!

Dear Spydog,

Dunbarton is right, I *do* like to see my clients 100% satisfied, (my current rate is only 98.12%, however!) and that of course includes you, too!

Just let me know if I can be of any assistance in getting your jumper connected. We can have a Superchips tech talk to your local TV or Radio or CB Radio shop, any of them could easily do it. I remember speaking with you a little while back, and I'm happy to do anything I possibly can to get you up and running.

Please let me know if you would like my assistance, ok? Feel free to give me a call anytime too, I'd call you, but I don't know who is who here with the screen names, unfortunately. (Except for Dunbarton, of course!)

Hang in there,

spydog,

Do whatever you have to do. It's well worth the wait to get your computer fixed by the factory. Trust me, you won't regret it.

Mike T. or anyone that can help.

I installed my superchip without any problems. The other day I took it out before letting the dealer service my truck (moving in front of wheel exhaust to behind wheel exhaust). Today, I re-installed it and my truck won't start. I've tried removing and re-installing it several times and still no start. It's a 97 and the code is DJJ3. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Doc_ford

Doc_ford,

Only thing I can think of is to check if your not getting good contact on the connections, reclean the computer board and check the pins on the chip (might have picked up some of the coating you scrapped off during the initial install). Also check if any of the pins (wire prongs) on the chip are bent back too far and are not making contact with the pc board when plugged in. Surely the dealer didn't swap the computer out with the exhaust mod! If this doesn't help, I'm sure Mike will have a few more ideas
