Going to TEXAS!

Ordered myself a 1715 today and will be leaving for Texas on Sunday.
Which program should I run for the trip?
Or should I try one program on the way down
and another on the way back? Any suggestions welcomed. Thanks

Great test! Would be interesting to know what you get for gas milage? What is your truck/any mods, and are you towing anything? Do you know what you have been getting for milage before the 1715?

I been seeing about 1 to 1 1/2 inprovement on the short trips and around town driving that I do, on the "max" tune. Counting the days for bike week at Daytona to see what happens when I get the trailer and 6 bikes on, and can use the "tow"mode, last two years it's been 10.5 to 11 mpg with out the chip/exhaust and pulleys.

Have good Christmas!!!!!!!!

Keep us posted.

2000, F150, 5.4, 4x4, towing pkg, I will not be towing anything this trip.

Only mods are appearance mods so far.

Current milage in town 11-12mpg
Last trip to Indiana not towing 19mpg
Return from Indy towing 5k lbs trailer 8-9mpg.

Thumbs up

Installed the 1715 yesterday, and loaded the 87 octane/tow prg.
WOW! what a difference.
Today I towed my 12' Pace American trailer full of carpet cleaning equipment and supplies (I figure roughly 2000 lbs.). It's like having a new truck. I know, Mike said don't make to many judgements from the seat of your pants, but my calibrated britches say "awesome". I will probably lose mpg, due to jetting around town. Can't wait to hit the open road!

I know what you mean!! Now the hard part of making that purchase of a 1715................KEEPING YOUR RIGHT FOOT OFF THE FLOOR.

"Calibrated Britches" I like that one.

Hi SAXNBBQ,

Sounds like a great combination - Id like some nice tenor sax & I'm *always* game for some great Q.

Glad to hear your "calibrated britches" are enjoying the Micro Tuner! (funny line, by the way)

With regard as to which program to use for a trip, if you're not towing, I'd say always use the "max" performance tune for premium gas as that will get you the biggest HP & torque gains, and will also get you the best fuel mileage. I would run that program all the time, except when towing, simply because that is what gives you the most performance - go figure.

Good luck on your trip & Merry Christmas!
