New Micro Tuner

Yesterday my new Micro Tuner was dropped off by UPS.
Installed it 30 minutes later, loaded "Performance" tune, and took to the road. Noticed the stronger shifts right-away. Then stopped and ran it up to stall speed and released the brake--instant tire spin for about 50 feet, almost went into wheel hop.

Could this product have that much effect? Stopped on the side of the road and reloaded stock program, went back to same burn out marks, same launch procedures, this time no tire spin.

Can't wait to see what happens to the gas milage!

Question? Can I reload the stock program to my truck, and then load one of the performance programs to my buddies truck to sell him on buying one for himself? He has the same truck as mine only a year younger.

Hi t-man,

Yes, it can make that much difference in some trucks - it's really a matter of the weight, as these F-150's can weigh anywhere from about 4500 lbs. to well over 7000 lbs. - though they all gain the same basic power gains from the Micro Tuner, the less weight you have, the more of an improvement that same power gain is going to make.

And yes, you *can* do exactly as you mentioned - you can return your vehicle to stock, then use it to program your friend's truck so he can try it, and then return his back to stock and re-tune yours once again - you can do that as many times as you like, the only limitation is that you can only tune 1 vehicle at the same time, that's all.

Glad to hear you're enjoying the Micro Tuner,

Thanks Mike, this new computerized game of tuning an engine is alot different than the jetting and offset cam bushings tunning we did on the old 55 chevy C/MP in the 60's. Quess I just dated myself.

Hey fellow firefighter, sorry! I should update my profile so it is on the post. Heres the low down on my truck.

Truck: 2000 F-150 Super CAB LARIAT TRIM
5.4 4x4 OFF ROAD AND TOWING PACKAGE

Mods: K&N GENERATION II FILTER KIT
DUAL 16" ELECTRIC FANS

AND JUST ADDED THIS WEEK FROM TROYER
MICRO TUNER
MAGNAFLOW CAT-BACK

Like I said I can't wait to load the bikes on the 14' inclosed trailer and head for the track at Daytona again to see what kind of gas milage I will be getting. Thats a good test for fuel milage, hills, flats, etc and 3000 miles to use as an average.

Hi t-man,

Small world - we ran C-Mod in the 70's, back when the index was 9.72 @ 147 mph - the trap speed & ET tells you we had no tires back then by comparison to today's times & speeds. We ran a Mopar, a GTX body with a destroked 440.

So while you did date yourself, welcome to the club, as it's nice to see another old motorhead here!

That 2000 F-150 you listed is one of the heavier configurations - a 5.4 Lariat w/4WD, Towing & the Offroad package - that's a minimum of 5500 lbs., and with a driver & full tank of gas on board, in round numbers it's darn near 6000 lbs. One of our F-150's here, a 2001, has the exact same configuration. So getting that kind of difference in performance from the Micro Tuner in that 3-ton F-150 is very impressive.
