Cool MicroTuner 1715 Review

Alright. I am not an expert at writing these, so please excuse anything that you dont agree with.

About six weeks ago I started asking questions about SuperChips as most newbies here do. I had read alot of what was posted and still had questions.

My vehicle is a 2000 Ford Expedition/Auto/3.55LS/4.6L... I was looking for something to help with towing. This truck would tow great on flat ground, excellent down hills but it was getting up the hills that was kicking my tail. I am pulling a Coachman Travel Trailer through the Ozark mountains.

I asked for help and advice in the forums and got some good help from Mike T. He told me that the Stage 1 from TroyerPerformance.com would be the best bang for the buck. I dont have that kind of money just laying around, so I thought that I would attack this in stages.

I ordered the 1715 on 9/17 and it arrived on 9/19. I took my 15 minute break at work to install the Perf - Towing program and waited until that evening to test it out on my way to Bull Shoals Lake.

On the way to the lake there was not one hill that I could not pull and still maintian the stated speed limit (this is a great new feeling). It seems that the shift points were moved so that on my auto tranny it would always shift up or down into a position where it could make power...

The return trip was just as good, with only one long drawn out hill that did slow me down, but not until I was better than 1/2 way to the top, and then it was very minimal.

I am looking forward to changing the program to all out PERFORMANCE just to see what she can really do.

For those with similiar trucks/SUV's and are curious as to what this can do for you in towing.. I dont have the answers, but I think my money was well spent. I feel more confident when towing with this vehicle and I love the way it pulls a hill under a load now.

Thank you Mike, Anita and all out there at Troyer Performance, I am happy with my new toy.

Hi OE,

Thanks very much for your post!

We're glad to see the Micro Tuner is helping out with your towing needs - the things you were not happy with are the same basic things that annoy other owners who are towing as well - so it's pretty common to use the Micro Tuner as the first thing to help performance.

We're glad to see it's working out well for you, & thanks again for your post!
