Thanks Mike T.
Thanks Mike T.
Per our long conversation on the phone 2 wks ago. I did what you suggested and ran a 13.40 in the 1/4. My 60' was 2.00. Am I dreaming about breaking into 12's with just the Micro and Airforce One? Track was 69 degrees low humidity. 32 lbs in the f1's
Thanks Again Mike
P.S. How much time is lost when my rear Squats down?

Hi evo,
Well, *most* 1999-2000 Lightnings can run 12.90's with just the Superchips tuning, Air Force One intake kit and a set of slicks.
However, you'll *never* do it on the stock F1's or even drag radials with just the tuning and the intake for mods, you'll need slicks so you can get your short times down into the 1.80-1.85 second range at your power levels.
The difference in times from the best setup (which on these L's is the 4-link conversion kit we offer along with our custom pinion snubber) as compared to a bone stock rear suspension can be as much as 4-5 tenths! In fact, one of our customer's Lightnings just very recently went from running consistent 11.80's to 11.40's, picking up 4 tenths over his previous best times with slicks and stock suspension. At your power levels, you're loosing probably a tenth and a half to 2 tenths to the rear suspension, pretty easy.
Make sure you stage as shallow as possible at the track, as the difference between a deep stage and a shallow stage can be a couple of tenths in ET as well, and could make the difference of whether or not it gets into the 12's with just tuning & an intake kit (and slicks, don't forget!)
Have fun,
