New Top Speed!!!!!!
HI!... Well I finally got to 140MPH today in N/A mode. My goal when starting to mod this truck was to break into the 13's in the 1/4 mile and hit a top speed of 140MPH. Well because of work, I havn't had a chance to get to the dragstrip this year yet. (work weekends now) But today it was 60 degree's, sunny and no wind what so ever. I got on this deserted section of highway and let her rip! It took me 2 full miles to get up to 140mph but the 1ST mile I got her up to 130mph. It took me another full mile to get another 10mph out of her. JMC and I double checked what my digital speedo was reading (140.3mph) VS. the drag math program. 4.10 gears, exactly 4500RPM in overdrive (0.70), with 29.99 tall tires (275/60/R-17). Now after heads/cams and a dyno tune....... mabey 145MPH?

Hi Neal,
Fantastic! I just *knew* it could do 140 given an opportunity with the power it's making now.
Congratulations on making 140+ mph in a non-Lightning, non-supercharged, no-nitrous, stock cylinder heads, cams & engine 5.4 F-150!
Of course, we know that with just a 2.0 short time, which you've done many times in that truck with significantly less power, you've got the power to run 13.80's. And once we get the 60' times down where it *really* belongs at your power level & with slicks, say, in the mid-1.80's, I think that times ranging from the low 13.70's to perhaps even the high 13.60's are a real possibility in the right weather.
Amazing how quickly you can get up to about 90 or so, and getting up to 110 isn't bad, then from about 125 mph on it takes awhile to gain further velocity with these aero profiles. Getting up to 130 mph in just 1 mile was *very* good.
Congrats on 140!!

HI!... dirt bike dave : Don't know! Never had it on a dyno yet.
Mabey if MIKE T would get his own dyno (hint) LOL! I might take the long drive down to his shop to get a dyno tune done, HINT, HINT.

140 mph! Wow! That is great. My brother has one of the new Dodge 1500 with the Hemi. The speedo dial has 165 on it. Anyone actually race one of these and beatem in N/A trim. I will be in his neck of the woods this summer to take him on, but he already knows I'm packin heat under the hood if ya know what I mean!
Whats next Neal; any supercharging in your future?

HI!... BruceScrew : I've raced a few of the HEMI trucks. They are sooooo over rated. I've smoked them from a roll and I've smoked them from a stop. As for whats next? Stay tuned for details.................
Hi Neal,
If you want us to dyno tune that truck (and you know I've been dying to get accurate A/F's on that truck for a long time now), come on down anytime you're ready & we'll take care of that for you. We have good access to a couple different chassis dynos and can tune anyone on the dyno, no problem. They just need to call us to set up the appointment, so anytime you want to come on down & do that, we'll take care of it.
If you like, drive it on down here & we'll install that next pair of modifications you & I have been talking about recently, and then put it on the dyno & tune it for you.

Mike I'll make a trip up there to ya, but then I'll be to tempted ot buy a blower
I'll just wait a few months, then get a blower and make a trip up to you so that I know I cma getting the best tune possible.
