To Mike T. and everyone!!
Okay guys I've driven the "Beast" with the newly installed Superchips Microtuner for a day now. I have a few questions. As I was installing the program I wanted to keep the performance section completely except alter the tires for my size. When i got to the transmission part the rep on the phone told to me to set that about two notches above the minimum. The scale is minimum....stock...maximum. So I'm not sure if I installed the tranny shifts a little weak. The question is Did the reading that said stock mean Ford stock or performance stock? It runs good and i can feel a little difference but i'm wondering if I should start over and alter the tranny setting. Any thoughts are appreciated!!

Hi BM2,
Generally, on non-Lightning F-150's the MIN setting is *factory* stock in terms of shift firmness, and then the middle is what you would get with the traditional Superchip module (probably what you are calling "performance stock"), or if you let the Micro Tuner just upload all the defaults.
You can set that wherever you want your shift firmness to be, that's up to you, but we advise not going more than 2-3 notches above the middle. Whatever you do, don't try maxing it out or trying to make it shift so hard that it "chirps" the tires on the WOT (wide-open throttle) 1-2 upshift. Anyone that wants to be able to "chirp" the tires on the WOT 1-2 needs to do both program changes and mechanical changes (Transgo shift kit) for the transmission to last longest.
The shifts should still be smooth on light throttle, and should only get "snappy" at very heavy throttle, as they are calibrated to have firmness levels that are in direct correlation to the amount of throttle opening, just as they should be.
This is a very basic Micro Tuner question that has been asked & answered here many times, including just in the past few days, numerous times in other threads. It comes up frequently. There is a much easier way to get your information on anything basic like that (as well as much more complex issues on just about anything you can imagine), and that is to use the search feature here. The icon is in the top right area of your screen here. Using the search feature will give you immediate access to all the information ever posted on whatever you want to know about, you can filter the results, look for specific key words or phrases, etc. It's a great tool, and your key to accessing all the wealth of information posted for years on these message boards. Just FYI...............
Have fun!
P.S. - We'd love to see some pictures of your Beast!
