Special Chip

Hello,
I am intersted in getting a chip for my 99 Ford F-150 4.6 computer code YBQ2. I believe I need a "special burn" on my chip.

Modifications include.
1. Vortech Supercharger V-2 SQ S (4FM218-010SQ).
2. Changed my gears from 3.08 to 3.73.
3. Flowmaster 40 SI/DO
4. Flex-a-lite electric fans #270

( I been busy!!!)

My question would be, the supercharger didn't come with a chip so should I have superchips burn one , or just ask if Vortech can burn one?

I have been very happy with my previous micro-tuner so I would like to stay on the "superchips brand"
Thanks,
JW

There are quite a few of us that are using custom burned Superchips. I think it's the best way to go.

Wow you have been busy, i bet that beast is gonna fly

Anyway I would get a tuner to burn you a chip, maybe Mike Troyer or someone like JDM Engineering, JLP Performance or PSP. If you check out the Lightning forum you will see many tuners listed, all do great chips.
Let us know how it runs

Hi JW,

We can take care of that for you, no problem! Here at Troyer Performance/Performance Products Inc. we've provided the tuning for more F-150's with superchargers added than any other company. From Vortech to Powerdyne to ATI, Magnacharger & many others, we make custom programs for any F-150 with any supercharger.

We generally pick up a minimum of 30+ HP on custom blower tunes in addition to all the other benefits, and sometimes even more power is gained. We'll generally drop an easy half-second to a full second+ off your 0-60 & 1/4 miles times in these F-150's with our custom blower tunes. The exact amount of raw power gained just depends on the exact configuration on each vehicle, whether or not the Vortech FMU is being used, etc.

We'll also need to correct your speedometer, odometer & shift points for your gear ratio change, of course, and if you've also changed tire sizes or anything else that affects the powertrain program, we can take care of all of that at the same time.

Give us a call at our number listed below & we can go over all the details & pricing with you.

Congratulations on your supercharger!

YBQ2

That would be great if I could have you guys burn the chip, especially since I was so happy with the micro-tuner I purchased from you guys.

I have a problem though. I was originally gonna get a chip, but I was told I thought by Mike T back in Jan that I have a problem with my computer. My local performance shop was unable to install a chip b/c of this problem. You guys told me about the Microtuner and we decided to go that route. Now I wanna go with a chip, but STILL HAVE THE YBQ2 PROBLEM.

I want the chip, but it is no good with my current set up.

HELP!!!

Talking Thanks

I was hoping you would say that. I will be contacting you guys in the next two weeks. I don't know if you remember but I am the Medical Student out at MCG so I have a wierd mod time table.

You guys saved me some serious time back when I ordered the microtuner, and your price was better than any local place at the time.

Thanks!!!

JW
