Chips are great for adding Horse Power and though you may notice a fuel mileage improvement (I did) there are other mods that are more of a sure thing. Electric fans, underdrive pullies, free flowing exhaust and air intake system are perhaps money better spent if you're looking to increase m.p.g.

Hi Waterrat,

In most cases, the Superchip is not going to produce a 3+ mpg increase in these heavy vehicles, you've got a very heavy vehicle that isn't going to get "good" fuel mileage. Going from 12.8 to 16 mpg is too much to ask from any performance chip, and you will also need to use premium gas as well, so you are not going to be able to buy a performance chip and spend less money for gasoline overall, that won't happen.

Performance chips are not for gas mileage, though the Superchip generally does give a small improvement in cruising fuel mileage. That's very true for many people, it's generally more like 1.5 mpg on average, with the range running from about .7 mpg to as much as 3.5 mpg if the planets are perfectly aligned & maybe a tailwind.

In other words, performance chips are for *performance*, not mileage, as the fuel mileage gains are icing on the cake, not the actual design purpose even though many people do see nice mpg gains from the Superchip.

There are plenty of things you can do to improve fuel mileage, such as our electric fan kit & underdrive pulleys combo, that can get you as much as 2.5+ mpg, and you'll get better mileage in both city and highway driving. Give us a call at our number listed below when you get a chance & we'll be happy to go over all of that with you in detail, go over the costs, etc.

In addition, you'll gain anywhere from 15 to as much as 20 hp at the rear wheels from our electric fan kit, and another 12 hp at the wheels from our underdrive pulleys, so they both deliver nice performance *and* fuel mileage benefits, which is why they're so popular.

And no, those changes will not void your warranty.
