$48.60 per HP with MicroTuner????
OK, got my MicroTuner today. Took my truck to the dyno so I would have some hard numbers. 2nd gear only run pre-tuner was 183.4 SAE Horsepower. After the microtuner was used it went to 190.6 SAE Horspower. This is a 3.93% increase. Not the 10 to 12% I was expecting. According to SuperChips I should see a 20 HP increase and a 28 ft/lbs torque increase. I saw an 11 ft/lbs increase on torqe.
I guess my question is, will this improve over the next month? I really don't want to spend $48.60 per HP. What have the rest of you seen?

I guess this is a silly question, but did you have a full tank of premium? I've had mine for a week and it seems to be getting stronger by the butt dyno. From my research I think it does take awhile for it to get to it's full potential. Like a tank or two's worth of mileage. Give it a little while and try it again, let us know what you find out.

I figured you probably were but wanted to go with the obvious first. I do know that after a week mine is feeling stronger than the first night. Now I don't have anything scientific to back it up.
Also Chevron here is 93 octane. Wonder why the difference? The summer is goes to 91 or 92, then it's always 93 in the winter.
We also have that crappy refomulated gas.
Don't give up on it. How do you like the other charecteristics? Like it's ability to get rid of that sloppy shifting?

Ya, Mike did say it can take up to 500 miles for the computer to settle and achieve max gains.
I dont understand your horsepower figure. You only got 183 hp? and whats SAE? Im sure that is not a peak HP at the rear wheel figure so you wouldnt get max gain figures right?
Correct me if Im wrong, but is'nt the 5.4 supposed to have 260 HP at the rear wheel?

My understanding is that the 260HP is at the flywheel, not rear wheels. I also understand that 4x4s lose more HP than do 2 wheel drives.
03F15054FX4 - your the 2nd person that has said that, but I've also seen numbers reported for 2nd gear only pulls. Not that I know anything about dynos and pulls. The only reason I did it was that I was tired of not knowing what it was and what my mods did.
Over on FTW everyone seems to think I need to reset the computer. Not sure why.

HI!... When running your vehicle on a chassis dyno you "MUST" make your runs in 3RD GEAR!!!!!!!!!! You need a 1:1 ratio or as close as you can get to it, when running on a chassis dyno. 3RD gear in 99% of auto trannys is 1:1 and manuals are usually 4TH gear. By running your truck in 2ND gear on the chassis dyno you skewed your #'s bigtime. FORD rates the "99" to current 5.4 engines at 260H.P at the flywheel. Most with the auto 4R70-W tranny RW dyno at 190 - 195RWH.P.
Hi Ark
You may get a full tech. update on this. Meantime..if you haven't done this..try "search" for dyno.pull/runs etc. Alot more involved than this thread addresses. Major info. has been posted here.
Bikenut....215/220 RWHP...how did you get that #? Just curious.
Good luck...OT

No dyno pulls, but I would like to if I knew where one was...
Actually, yes, Im an Industrial Firefighter, but I did'nt choose the Red and really would have prefered NOT to have a Red vehicle

Im still bummed that the HP is so much lower than I thought in the 5.4...
