Question Off on the Right Foot

OK guys - just got home with my new Bright Red Screw Lariat FX4, only 7 miles on the thing and I need some help getting off on the right foot in the SHINE department.

I once heard that the impurities in the paint straight from the factory are massive and it was a good idea to clean it good and re-wax it. What do you guys think?

Next, need some wax advice - BY THE WAY, I LOVE THE "WET" LOOK - WHich one - Zaino, LG, Cherry Wet Wax????

Please help and send as much advice as you have to BIGWORM - dwwormington@ualr.edu

Thanks a million in advance and I look forward to hearing from you.

You could do Klasse Sealant Glaze on that red truck. It would look soo sweet!!! Expecially if you topped it with some P21S (s100)

I'll send you an email tomorrow from my other computer with some information in it.

It is a good idea to get off on the right foot. Most swirls are created by the owner and your lucky because you won't have to worry about fixing and removing swirls, you can just worry about preventing them.

P21S is an awesome car wax. S100 is the same wax but $10 cheaper. It is marketed to motorcycles. It is really the same wax.

I'm a Zaino believer. A little expensive but the best products that I've ever used. Easy to apply, no waxy crap on the rubber trim and looks great. I won't use anything else now. website-www.zainobros.com

Get a good nozzle for your hose. Water with some decent pressure is great for busting off dirt, bird poop, and other grime from the paint. If you have a pressure washer, then use it at around 1000PSI. It is safe.

Use a soap meant for cars! Meaguiar's Gold Class is a good mild car soap that is easy to find. $10 you can get a gallon of it at Target.

Get a high quality wash mitt and take care of it! 100% COTTON or a Sea Sponge meant for car washing. Keep your wash mitt clean too. Rinse it out before and after each wash.

Don't rub when you dry! Use a 100% cotton bath towel to blot dry your truck. It doesn't take that long. Make sure you get a towel to quickly dry windows first though (and side mirrors) as they spot easily. I like to use the bath towel for stuff like hoods, roof, bedcover. I then use a smaller towel to blot the sides of the vehicle dry.
