For instance someone that may only put say 3000 miles a year on their truck and leave it outside in the sun all the time then UV protection would be a BIG help to prevent the tires (sidewalls) from cracking.
LoL , damn did you hit that one right on the nose. My 85 work truck only gets between 3 and 4k miles a year on it, the rest of the time it sits outside in the sun all the time because i don't have a garage . My HD only gets 10K a year on it, so a set of tires will last me 4-5 years on it. I wanna protect them, but mainly want to keep them nice and low-tone shiney because i enter it in shows I also wanna try the bedmat like the other guy did with the zaino stuff.

Make sure you don't let it sit out in the sun too long without driving it. The UV inhibitors in tires need the flexing of the rubber while driving to make them move to the surface. If you aren't driving it and leaving it in the sun for extended periods, then you will have premature tire failure. That is one reason RV'er cover their wheels when they have their RV's parked for awhile.

I drive it when i go to work, i just don't have a very far drive. I've been putting on closer to 4K miles on it though. But i don't think i have to worry about uv protection on those tires anyway, because with the twin I beam suspension, the tires wear out in like 20K miles or less. Thats why i have to rotate the tires AND flip them on the rim cuz the outside's of the front wear out super fast.

That's a good point Intel. I don't know if radial tires have the problem that the bias tires did years ago that if they sat to long in one place they tend to get flat spots so when you would finally drive on them they had a vibration for a while.

Question

Has anyone used the Z-16 on their Rhino Lining? Armor-all only last a couple of weeks and leaves the surface slippery. Have heard negative remarks on the stuff that the Rhino Dealers sell and it is expesive. Any suggestions?

i know another guy with a 02 HD on the other site used the z16 on his bedmat and it turned out great and not oily or slippery. I'm going to try it soon on mine.

I found that eagle one tire wet spray and there form applicator which is contoured to the shape of the tire wall work the best for me. It applys just enough and last at least 2 weeks.

I've finally found a tire shine product that I'm happy with. I've used a lot of different kinds and types. As everybody knows, there's foams, gels, trigger sprays, and aerosols. The one that I am finally happy with is the Eagle one aerosol spray. It's relatively new, I think. I used to use the Eagle one gel with foam applicator, but that was kind of a pain in the *** and didn't coat evenly like the aerosol does. The aerosol also doesn't fling off like the trigger sprays. And IMO, lasts pretty long.
