rust has started along the entire seam where the outer skin meets the tailgate body. This seam is located on the bottom inside surface. It appears that water has collected in the seam in the area lower than the drain holes. There appears to be no sealer in the seam at all. My truck is white so the rust and bubbled paint is easier to see than on other colors. I guess the boys at JOB#1 haven't made enough of these to get it dialed in yet.

I've heard similar complaints, however, my white 1999 still has no rust. You may want to check the bottom of your doors as well.

 

3m Makes a good product for stopping rust once it has started. I don't know the name but I'll try to find out.
