Thumbs up Porter Cable 7336SP

I got my new Porter Cable 7336SP buffer this week and tried it out today on my wife's car. I give it two thumbs up, it worked GREAT!! The dual actual and adjustable speed is nice. I had to use some buffing compound on parts of her car and the wool buffing pads worked great. I used a cleaner was as the next step and used a wool pad for that also. The final step was carnuba wax and I used a foam pad for that. The smaller pad size makes getting in the curves and hard to reach areas much easier.
I would highly recommend this buffer to anyone. The adjustable speed is the best of both worlds, between high speed and orbital buffers.

Where did you get the pads?

Yhea, I just used my DeWalt (almost like the PC) to wax my highlander today. Spread the wax quickly and evenly. The small pad size is plus too.

Thumbs up Portal Cable

What was your total cost with all the accessories and shipping? And how is the unit as in terms of slinging the wax, causing swilrs, or burning the trim/molding? Are you planning on using it on your L. Would like to see some hand waxed vs PC waxed pics soon.
thanks,tk2

Total cost was about $160, buffer plus the pads.

Like all higher speed buffers, the amount of stuff you sling around all depends on on your technique. I now how to minimize it, so it isn't bad at all. I used 3M buffing compound and that makes a mess all by itself.

Keep the speed down and keep the buffer moving and you won't have to worry about burning,

I used it on the L today. I buffed the hood to get some of the water spots off before I Zaino it next week. I probably will not use it to Zaino it so I don't waste alot of it on the pads.

I use my DeWalt Random Orbital to apply wax. It is like the PC but more powerful. As long as I don't overload the pad with wax or lift it up while it is spinning, then I don't get any problems with wax splatter. I also run it at its slowest speed for applying wax. It helps to prevent spaltter.
