Glue Recommendation Needed

After disengaging the parking brake recently, the rubber pad fell to the floor. What household glue can I use to fix this right the first time so it will last another 8 years?

Also, thanks for the tip a few weeks back about using lighter fluid to remove adhesive marks on windows and around inspection stickers.

3M makes an adhesive for trim that would probably work. I think it's available as regular and a heavy duty version. Make sure it sets up and has time to dry. I'm not sure, but I also believe the rubber pad has a lip around it to hold it to the metal portion of the pedal. Make sure the rubber pad is completely on the pedal.

good old contact cement is the best bet for matching rubber to metal. If applied properly, it will last another 8 years.

It might be over kill but I bought some epoxy mix at home depot to fix the broken handle on our microwave. I wasn't sure it would hold up to all the pulling that caused the handle to break in the first place.

I was blown away by how strong it held. It comes in a syringe(sp) with two tubes and if i remeber correctly it came in a couple of different flavors depending on what you were trying to fix.

good luck

I'm thinking...spring for a new one...slightly higher than a glue purchase.
