Hood cracks
What do they look like? Are they only in the clearcoat?
Can you take a picture of them with something to compare size to? Like a dime.
Are they thin and in a small area? Like a little area the size of a dime? That is spiderwebbing. Only way to remove them is by colorsanding.
I've got them a few spots on my roof and hood. I think it is just the paint they Ford uses.

I looked today and found cracks in the gutters on the roof to. My truck is a 2000 and black, anyway went to the dealer today and they are going to repaint the whole truck. As for the way they looked they called the ones on the hood chicken feet about the size of a dime. The scary thing is I washed the truck a week ago and they were not there.
paint cracks
I think I also have cracked paint. It's in various spots all over the truck. Some on the passenger door, some on the bed, and I think even some on the roof. Think I can get ford to fix them? I'm over 36000 miles but I have an extened warranty.
My black 2001 Supercrew is being painted right now. The cracks were on the hood. Service department took pics and sent them to Ford and they approved the paint job. They called yesterday and said they have to paint the fenders too.
I got my truck back ... service ordered complete strip, prep and paint of hood, both front fenders and drivers door. Looks good but since the truck is black the swirls in the clearcoat are really visible. Anybody with a black truck experience this before? Should I just wax over or is it actually possible to get a vehicle painted black and clear coated without visible swirls?

If they repainted those areas, then there shouldn't be any swirls. If there are swirls, then the person who buffed your truck didn't know how to use the buffer.
You need to get a polish to polish the swirls out. Try Meguiars #9 Swirl Mark Remover.
Also, since it is a fresh paint, you need to wait atleast 30 days before you wax so the paint can fully cure. You can use a polish like Meguiar's #9 right away though.
