Polished Emblems

Hi everyone. Awhile back I remember seeing a tech article on polishing the F-150 emblems. Turns out the Ranger emblems are made the same way, but now I can't find the article anywhere. Anyone know where to find it or have the instructions? TIA

Welcome to the board!

I know there is a How-To around somewhere but . . .

. . . basicly, all you do is wipe them down with Acetone, it may take some rubbing but the black paint will come off.

Some guys do it with the emblem still on the truck . . . some guys report minor damage to the paint . . . I took mine off! It's a mess, I used rubber gloves, soft cloths, Q-Tips, etc.

Once again, Welcome . . .

Bob

Are the F-series emblems metal? The Ranger ones are plastic (we always get the cheap crap!), and seems to me acetone would remove a lot more than the paint.
