Thumbs down Windshield Wipers...

My wife was driving the truck home when it started to rain. She turned on the windshield wipers and they did not work. She was 45 minutes from home so I had to go get her. I headed out with Rain-X in hand (in case I couldn't get the wipers to work).

Sure enough, the wipers lay flat and move slightly when you turn them on. Thank goodness I brought the Rain-X!!!

Over the last few weeks (I've only had the truck for a couple months), I noticed that the driver's side wiper rests 3-4 inches higher than normal. Also, when we had a slight freeze last week, the wipers were acting up.

Any suggestions?

Pop of the bolt-cover cap & tighten the bolts that hold the wipers on -- had to do this to one earlier this week when it iced.

Dunno if this affects your model, but I got a recall notice to have some electrical component replaced in my SCrew wiper motor assembly. Supposedly, the current motor may decide not to work at times.

Thanks. Wipers are working.

After I posted the message I did a search and found the problem to be that they needed to be tightened - as you stated. Thanks.

Exclamation recall

I am getting the cover replaced on my wiper motor next week... it seems that it's in the electronics part of the wiper motor and they either decide not to work or in some cases they have had fires. In Tucson I don't use my wiper much tho

I read/heard somewhere that they are faulty and like to catch on fire.
