Exclamation Rear view mirror finally fell... Now that little button...

My rear view mirror fell off my 93 F150 last week....

Can anyone tell me just HOW to get that little metal button out of the unit so I can stick it back on my windshield???

I don't want to force anything and break the mirror assembly.... It looks pretty expensive

I think there's an allen head set screw. That's how most of them work. But it may just be a friction fit too. One less thing to do at the plant I guess..

I had a '94 and the mirror kept falling off. There was a narrow slot at the bottom of the base, insert a small screwdriver or something similiar and press lightly while sliding the mounting piece out. That should do it...

Good advice on the mirror button! Glad it worked...twistedfinn beat me to the punch! I work with automotive glass everyday.
