Can anyone get me detailed info on TSB 00-18-9 from Sept '00? My mirrors are turning black from underneath and I want to get warranty replacement (they have the signal leds in them..'99 Lariat). I'm sure the dealer has no knowledge and would love to provide some grief over replacing them. So, if it applies to my situation, the TSB info will be a help. Thanks!

LINCOLN: 1998-99 NAVIGATOR


ISSUE:
The signal mirror reflective surface may deteriorate over time, developing dark spots due to chrome plating delamination.

ACTION:
Replace the left and right mirror assembly glass with revised mirrors. It is necessary to replace both mirrors to maintain a uniform appearance. Refer to the appropriate Workshop Manual for replacement procedure.

hey! my dad has this problem on his 99 lariat. but he's got 54k miles... will they repair it for free?? he is out of warranty, but isn't it a recall?

 

ive got scratches through out my mirrors, but I got it used and I thought the last owner did something stupid with them. I planned on replacing them with new ones, but if I can get them replaced it would stop me from having to eat beans and rice for the next 2 weeks

 

I had this TSB done to my 99 XLT and already noticed that my 99 Lightning needs it!!!! Will be getting that done soon. It does make a difference.
