Question Thanks guys..now how do I get peanut butter of my plastic trim!

Just kidding....Desparate times call for desparate measures...I tried the peanut butter on my plastic trim and by golly it worked like a charm...Couldn't believe it. Now I can orbital buff like a crazy man and not worry...

Best thing is I've got this real nosey retired neighbor, and it just so happens I had this gargantuan jar of JIF I got at one of those super stores, so once I saw that it worked I pulled down into my driveway in his full view, and brought out the ol' jar and plastic spoon out and went to town. He was like, "Ahh..What are you doing?" I responded, "What's it look like I'm doing?" He said, "It looks like you're putting peanut butter on your truck." I said, "That's right." Maybe one night I'll sneak out into the backyard and bury something by the light of the moon so he thinks I'm completely nuts.....

Hey cpadpl,

Funny but I can't help but comment here. I'm completely as puzzeled as your neighbor 'prolly' was 'cause I feel like I'm missin' more than half the story eventhough I went to the first post and couldn't figure out how you were thankin' someone for a suggestion that I couldn't find. Help me out here!

Thought I was nuts, man we need to talk 'cause I got some stuff that'll 'prolly' make you laugh too.

Oh, and while you neighbor is lookin' put some jelly on the wheels and tell him you think your truck is a loaf or whole wheat bread. Maybe you can put some milk on the hood and polish that in too cause not many folks can resist milk with their peanut butter and jelly bread!!! After all that, your neighbor will be thinkin' straight jacket for sure.

Talk later,
DaveMan

I was using the peanut butter to get wax (and also the polish I use - Mother's sealant/glaze) off of the plastic trim of my truck. I use an orbital buffer and it's almost impossible for me not to get crap all over the damn place when I wax my paint, from my wiper cowls to my bed steps to my bed caps to my color-keyed mirrors, etc. That stuff is the dardest to get off, can't wash or scrape off. People say buy some restore-to-black stuff, and I'm like now I've got to fork out more for car care products, and I'm always concerned about getting that kid of stuff on my paint, cause the trim is in such close proximity to the paint.

So, I saw the peanut butter suggestion, saw someone say that it actually worked, also saw a bunch of joking posts, and figured what the hell, and by golly to works better than anything I've ever seen. No rubbing, no buffing, put it on,wipe off, and the wax is gone.

Hey guys,

I guess I never doubted something like peanut butter could work wonders for all sorts of things on whatever as well as being a food. However, I was having a lot more fun with the ficticious stuff than the serious talk.

Good luck with the peanut butter and I will let you know if any food stuffs work out on my truck from this end. I'll leave out the spilled food and drinks that hit the seats or carpet but will investigate real close when the same happens to the paint job.

Talk to Ya Later,
DaveMan

Thank-You my Son. Now please take your spot next to me. You will be my right hand man, as there will be more disciples as you. To lead these followers thru the valley of tips an mods. My son, there is much work to be done.

Really, Thanks for the very kind words. I do what I can. If it works, I'll pass it on. I've know what I wanted my truck to look like from the beginning. It's finally there after three years. Now can I get this heavy *** truck to do 14's in the 1/4. I'll be happy with 15's. My best time friday(the 21st)was a 17.2. . I can do better then that. But then again. It's a truck. Take care cpadpl.

F-150 Ram Air

What do you know about billet grilles? I've essentially got the same look as you, 2000 4.6L XLT 4x4 ORP, deep wedgewood blue clearcoated. I think I'd like a shiny grille to match my chrome bumper, and the ram air hood. I'm not really sure how much work is involved with installing a billet grille. I've seen people mention cutting, drilling, etc...Don't wanna do that..

Also, I bet that airflow (re/ the ram air hood) is helpful keeping the engine cooler...At least it can't hurt things...Do the screens for the holes come from Cervinis also or do you have to get them from some place else....

I personally don't like the billet grilles. There cool. But not for my truck. I like the dark look. I have the dark gray honeycomb grille. I like how it compliments the hood. I'd might think different if I had a different color. And I'd have to agree with you on the cutting part, me neither. The openings on the hood are great on a nice cool night. Truck runs like a bat out of hell, sucking that cool breath of fresh air in. Cervini's will give you the screens,BUT, you have to ask for them, or you won't get them. I leave mine open during the summer. I'll close them up for the winter, when I know it's gonna snow. As much snow as we got last year. I won't have to bother.LOL Take care cpadpl. Talk to you later.

Nope, doesn't take the skid marks out of underwear.
p.s. there's nothing crazy about jelly and milk on your truck, or burying stuff in your backyard really late at night. try burying your truck, covered in pb&j in a big hole filed with milk in your backyard, but do it during the day, and act like nothing at all is going on. Just be natural, as long as you feel like it, it ain't crazy. Oh, come on, like you never did it, too...
Maybe not
Oh well, maybe I am crazy. I didn't do that, though, I just, um, read about someone who did....

Hey Pickup Man,

Thanks for coming to my rescue, I was startin' to think I was the crazy one here. No one commneted on my crazy talk until you popped in. I gathered you must have been laughin' the whole time you were typin'. This stuff can really be fun, if you let it, right? I don't think this thread was meant to be too funny as the peanut butter was really used to clean the truck. But, what the he// I'm a crazy guy and I thought it was funny as he//.

BTW, my straight jacket came from walmart, where's yours from?

F-150 Ram Air:

Well...now you have a new title..."The Supreme Peanut Butter Man"...with this rank comes great responsibility....we think you are up to the task at hand! Are you really one of us ? or are you
an Alien from the "other side" since us normal humans do not have this type of "extreme knowledge"......May the FORCE be with you.

In terms of your ET's (not extra terrestial)...what have you already done to your alien f-150 ship ? 14's or 15's are reasonable goals.

..."The Supreme Peanut Butter Man"...

Georgia Moon,

That's funny. I know it sounded silly. But, if it works. Do it. Right? I tried everything. Nothing worked to my liking. Somebody told me about it. I figured what the hell. And I'll be a sum bitch. It worked. So I passed it on. It's cool though. As far as my times. I thought I would've done better then that. I know it's a heavy truck, 4X4 with all the skidplates, not that they add that much weight, considering they were made from Reynolds Wrap. My second gear sucks. Got a custom chip an still falls flat on it's face. I know what I have to do. Change my gears. Got 3.55's now, I'll change them to 4.10's. Oh well, thought it would be a little quicker. I'm glad you could take part in my extreme knowledge. Well, I gonna go. I got to clean my exhaust tips with raw bacon strips. It's like polishing a shoe. You grab both ends of the bacon and buff away.
