Question Swirls in black paint

Any suggestions on what would be best to get the swirls out of black and get a glossy shine. Seen some people talking about claying. What is this and what does it do?

goto Zaino Brother's website.. They've got all the info there, pretty sure there's a swirl remover aswell...

i think the site is zainobros.com. If not just do a search for it on a search engine and it will come right up.

z-5

Z-5 is the product that you want. It is the polish with a swirl remover in it.

Consider using the Claybar (Z-18) product if the paint is not smooth as glass. Absolutely amazing products. I'm very pleased with all of them. I've done 6 vehicles now. Once the family took a look at the first one, they all had to be done.

Follow the tips and tricks and if you have questions, email Sal Zaino. He is very helpful.

irish, I just ordered Z1,Z5, & Z6. Someone I talked with recommended to just use Z5 all of the time and not even use Z2 for street cars. I thought I would give that a try. You can check out all the info at http://www.zainobros.com/ and find out about all of the zaino products.

irishrotty,

You may want to get the Z7 wash also. The entire system works well together. I would recommend Z1, Z2, Z5, Z6, Z7. The Z1 is a mild cleaner/conditioner. The Z5 is used to cover up swirl marks and fine scratches. The Z2 is the Polish with higher optics than the Z5. The Z6 is the QD.

If you get the Z2, make sure it's the last coat(s) you put on.

Zaino, I have put on about 12 coats in the last couple months, no swirls, perfect paint.

Zaino, all the way.

Zaino is awesome

irish,

I would concur with the others here. Z-1, z-5, and Z-6 is a good starting place.

I started with Z-18 (claybar) because my paint was gritty. The claybar took all of the roughness out of the paint and it is now smoother than the windshield. I'm not kidding. The paint is actually smoother than glass.

I'm about to post some new pictures in the next week or so. They look like mudder's in that the shine is awesome. I get complements even when it dirty. Zaino sure makes it shine.

I know that it is intimidating at the first when buying the products. You can certainly start with just Z1, 5 and 6. That should certainly take out the swirls.

Good luck
