I've always liked the liquid. Seems easier to use. Since your truck is 8 years old and never been clayed, I highly recommend it. I's very easy and you're not going to do any damage as long as you keep it lubricated.

i agree with these guys! do the claybar! it takes all the "texture" off your paint and makes it smooth as glass!

I also use Megs NXT 2.0, works great! and i use a quick detailer after washing too.

Seriously man, you have to clay it first. If you don't it's just putting you're just putting wax over all the crap in your clearcoat. Get either the Meg's or Mother's claybar kit. Just keep the paint lubed up so the clay doesn't stick. It should slide around effortlessly and you'll feel it running over all the roughness. You just keep doing it until that roughness is gone. Look it up being done on YouTube. There's hundreds of good detailing vids on there.

If nothing else get the Meg's clay kit and follow the easy directions, you will be pleased with the difference.
The Megs Ultimate Compound and Polish work very well, but you're wasting your time without using a dual-action buffer. The key to a great finish is all in the prep: get all the swirls and hazing out with the polish and compound; all the wax adds is some shine and protection. Forget the Megs NXT; use their new Ultimate wax. Apply thin, thin, THIN! All available at wally world

Frankly, for a last step product, I love Blackfire Wet Diamond, topped with Wet Glaze 2.0. Only stuff that makes silver/white pop.

Don't get me wrong - if you're just looking for a 'protected finish'; allowing swirls and bonded contamination to remain -- that's fine. To each their own...

If you want to correct swirls, remove the bonded 'stuff', and do a very good prep to achieve a stellar, protected, finish.

As for your original question... there are lots of great products out there... and several here have mentioned some of those products. I'm not going to really chime in on 'this is the best, hands down' but rather, would encourage you to try a couple of different products -- maybe even some that have been mentioned in this thread. Yes, you're going to spend twice the money to get a few different 'flavors' but, by trying a few, you'll be able to identify what works best for YOU and gives YOU the results that YOU want.

Really though -- paint prep is the key.

Clay it first... You will be surprised after one body panel what is on that clay bar...

As far as wax you cant go wrong with the nxt 2.0...

I just purchased a 07 and the paint felt like sand paper when i would run my hand over the paint...

After about 45 mins of claying it was smooth, i put a coat of nxt 2.0 on it 2 days ago, yesterday another coat, and today a coat of surf city barrier reef carnuba paste wax. Let me tell you the truck looks like you are looking in a mirror now.. Im going to wait until tomorrow morning and put some of my poorboys sealant on it and i will be good to go for atleast 6 months.

Ok fellas so when i got off work at 8am i went to the western auto. Picked up a clay bar and the nxt 2.0 and came home and got to work. Just what i wanted the finish looks deep and still has that kinda wet look. The metalic flakes in the paint are popping. I would love to post pics for your pleasure but i no longer have a working camera and my cell phone won't do it justice.

Thanks a milllion for the advice and helpin me get her cleaned up

I used DG 601 pba (polish bonding agent) and DG 105 TPP (total performance polish) and then DG spray on Aqua-wax.

The 601 you apply like a wax, but you don't buff it off...you do the whole car like that.

Then you apply the 105, working on one panel at a time, and apply/let haze/buff off with a clean microfiber towel. When you're done with that, then go over the whole car with aqua-wax.

I'll bet you can get all three of those products for less than 30 bux...give it a try on your silver, you won't be disappointed.
Great photo. What camera did you use? (please don't tell me that's from an iphone!)
